“This is must stop either when passing through or as a destination. There’s not much to do there other than order and eat delicious food - but worth it. We stop here when passing through and order enough for several days when we get home. The fruit kolaches, sausage and cheese kolaches, and jalapeño cheese bread are amazing.Need to update based on some other reviews I’ve read. Yes, this is a gas station/attached to a gas station. Know that going in and you will because when you arrive it’s clearly that. BUT there is a clear process for ordering on the gas station side. The line is on the far side of the store, the other people mulling around are typically looking at their options before getting in line. Prices are low for what you’re getting! A loaf of specialty bread, 7 fruit kolaches, and four sausage cheese and jalapeño kolaches literally cost $20 today. That will last two people 5 days - compared to what it would us same two people for one meal at McDonalds. As for the service, yes there’s often only one cashier, however, if you follow the system the cashier and line moves quickly. The other employees who fill orders also move quickly to move in the order people are in line.10/10“
“I came in later in the day. I bought a big box of kolaches to take home. I had the apricot one first. They taste 100% like my czech grandmother used to make. Highly recommend this place for authentic czech kolaches. Working thru the other flavors but so far very impressed. This place lives up to the influencer hype ?“
“If you want a homemade custom cake of quality, look no further. Not only does Patsy's festive cakes taste incredible, but her customer service is 10/10. She responded to me quickly and pick-up was very easy. I ordered a Lincoln Welder cake for my boyfriend's birthday who also just graduated from his welding program. He absolutely loved it! I was very satisfied and impressed with the attention to detail. Her work is definitely worth the money, you will not be disappointed. Will be doing business with Patsy in the future.“
“Oak Street Bakery was not open on January 1, 2024, so to the person that left the review, please check the name of the bakery before posting your review. Gerik’s is also not the same bakery as Oak Street Bakery. They are across the street from each other. To the people that have left reviews about Gerik’s or their pies, please make sure you have the correct bakery name before posting under Oak Street Bakery. Thank you!“
“I absolutely have to stop here if I am anywhere close by. I love their sausage, real authentic kolaches, and all the things you can only find here. There is always a line so please pack some patience. But definitely worth the wait. I did discover this trip if you get ground sausage kolaches it is not pan breakfast sausage they use ground link sausage. My favorite kolaches this trip was the czechadoodle and the poppy seed. They have a new section outside that has all kinds of metal art that is awesome!! Love love love Slovacek’s.“
“I stopped at Gerik's this weekend on my way back to Austin and was very happy I did. I got the sausage, bacon, jalapeño, cream cheese pastry which honestly wasn't really my cup of tea just because there was SO much cream cheese in it. I also got a lemon cream cheese kolache which was fantastic. The pastries here are ridiculously cheap as well. The girl working the counter was super sweet but the inside of the store itself was nothing special which is totally fine because it doesn't need to be :)“
“Best apple fritters in America. We tried this place two years ago and loved it. We were driving through the state on a road trip. The place was so good we literally stopped at 4 different donut shops around the area trying to find this place again. We found it, and we'll worth it. Locally owned, we got about 15 apple fritters between a buddy and me for the road trip. Excessive, I know. But they are that good!“
