Slovaceks has decent baked goods. Sausage is good. Beware of brisket (ask for it to be trimmed well of fat). Good selection of highway rest stop commercial items of many types. Good place to stop before hitting the Waco area if you are Southbound on I-35.

This place is a must stop anytime I'm on my way to DFW. Clean restrooms, college team merch, and kolaches, they are so good. Gotta try the Texas shaped sugar cookie too!!!

Slovacek's West is a beloved stop for many, including early risers who bike through rain and snow to enjoy their delicious kolaches. A must-visit spot, it features a beautifully maintained dog area, clean restrooms, and great pulled pork sandwiches. It is a maximalist stop for sure with a great array of gifts and collectibles to look at and enjoy. Many agree it has the best kolache in Texas, with some of the best brisket and amazing sausage. They also have excellent food and desert, including fresh made sandwiches and the best Boudin.
