We celebrated our anniversary at Veneto. We had not been there before. We were seated outside on the front porch at our request. Really enjoyed the ambiance in the city. The table was great and service outstanding. Our server was great as well as other service people. The food was great! Every course was great including a welcome gazpacho and very light final desert "taste." One other point....the wine list is incredible. Many pages of options and "bottle years."...
The food and wine were wonderful, and the bolognese was a definite highlight. We'd noted in our reservation that it was our 10-year wedding anniversary, which was even confirmed with a phone call. While we didn't expect any special treatment, it felt a little strange that other anniversary tables around us were acknowledged and ours wasn't. It was a minor detail, but a bit disappointing given the confirmation.
The food was excellent. They have some strict rules which are offputting. The kitchen doesn't allow the server to bring butter for the bread. A taste of wine to sample before deciding is not allowed either. It took a very long time to get a second glass of wine. They wouldn't allow one person to get the tasting menu on the other à la cart. They wouldn't allow ice cream to be put on top of the fruit tart, because they said that was for the olive oil cake.  these...
