About Hometown Dumpling 弄堂生煎

Hometown Dumpling 弄堂生煎 is praised for its soup dumpling, described as full of soup and very good in flavor. The restaurant serves a variety of dumplings, including a soup, pork sausage and a beef version, each with good flavor. Service is quick and friendly; a cook may hand a sample to a new customer. The staff is beyond friendly and guests can watch them make the dumplings. The place is small, with only about ten tables, so a wait is possible during busy times, and the parking is limited.

The menu features popular items such as Pork w/ Mushroom Xiao Long Bao and Pork w/ Green Onion Xiao Long Bao, which arrive steaming and fresh. Other favorites include handmade pan pried bao and Braised Pork Bao, where the dough has the right thickness for the filling. Fried Pork Dumpling and Braised Pork noodle are noted as okay, with the noodle lacking flavor. Sides are praised, especially cucumber salad, which is flavorful. The ambiance is simple and unassuming, but the food is considered totally worth the time. Overall, Hometown Dumpling delivers fresh, homemade dumplings that keep customers coming back.

Good Dumplings
Oh boy where to start. FINALLY Utah has a proper soup dumpling establishment! They are so good and flavorful. Full of soup! You must dine in to get them though. The bao buns were good, the fried dumplings were good and crispy but the soup dumplings really are the reason to go. Staff is beyond friendly and you can watch them make the dumplings. Be prepared to wait for your food as it is made fresh, I promise it's worth it! Only downside is there are only about 10 tables so you...read full review
Kind of a hole in the wall and at first the menu can seem underwhelming. But amazing dumplings across the board. Even the sides are all brilliant (loved the cucumber salad).

Not the best ambiance and the parking sucks and the place is unassuming. And it’s totally worth your time! Amazing food.
