The pies are part of the Capitol Reef experience. You simply must do it. The first day split three pies- apple, cherry and peach among two adults, three kids and a toddler/baby. The apple didn’t quite meet my expectations but I am picky on apple pie. The peach pie 🥧 was outta this world! The next day we bought pies to help the kids hike Cassidy Arch. We got five pies! Peach, two cherries and a wild berry and they were all very good! Don’t let the line deter you. It is worth...read full review
Getting fresh pies at Gifford House is apparently part of the Capital Reef National Park experience. Gifford house is very cute and in a beautiful outdoor area of the park. They sell a selection of products like canned jam, syrup aprons, baking supplies, and, of course, pies and ice cream. I got mixed berry for Hubs and apple for myself. They’re all fruit pies, no chocolate. Sooo…I’m not particularly a pie person, and I prefer chocolate, so I can’t judge if it’s the...read full review

The Gifford House & Museum Store is a charming and quaint little place set in a beautiful location. It is well-known for its delicious homemade pies, made with fresh fruit from the nearby orchards in Capitol Reef National Park. Customers can enjoy a variety of flavors, such as cherry, apple, peach, mixed berry, and strawberry rhubarb, each featuring flaky crusts and toppings. The pies are so tasty that they are a major reason to stop by when visiting the area. Visitors have praised the cherry and mixed berry pies, noting their deliciousness.
The house also offers hand-crafted gifts and crafts for guests to browse. There are tables outside where customers can enjoy their pies while taking in the lovely landscape and the horses nearby. However, it is worth noting that the pies are only made with local fruit when in season, and the shop has limited open hours. The ice creams, available in small tubs, provide a nice addition to the pie experience.
