“The food was spectacular. Silky, flavorful hummus with pita that is clearly made fresh. I had the Mediterranean salad and it really impressed me. It was tangy, herbaceous, and fresh. I had a side of gyro meat as well that I really enjoyed as it was full of spices but balanced with a fattiness. I tried my boyfriend’s salmon and that was packed with flavors also. Not to mention the space was so cute. I felt like I was at my grandmas house. It’s not flashy or modern but I like that. I was very happy to discover a place like this is in Salt Lake City.“

The portions are generous and the prices are affordable. I can’t say enough about Layla Grill I wish I could eat there every day. They transform you to the Mediterranean with the atmosphere and food. “We went there last minute to grab some food and drinks with friends. The only reason this did not get five stars is because they were extremely short staffed. The staff that was on, which I believe was only a single waitress and bartender with a cook absolutely did an amazing job for the number of tables and people they had. Angel was our server and she was absolutely spectacular. She was at a half run the entire night and always got our drinks out quickly and kept our water refilled despite running the entire restaurant by herself. We ordered some fish tacos and a burger and a salad and all the food was well prepared and, something that we would order again. The outdoor seating was perfect with shade and a nice cool breeze. We will definitely come back and hopefully they will have more staff to help out the hard-working crew that was there when we were there.“

“Really good option for vegans and vegetarians! I got a wrap with half portobello and half falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, cucumber/tomato salad, rice, lettuce, pickled onion/cabbage, cilantro and tahini sauces. The falafel gets crumbled which is a little weird, but it worked with the food and made it less dry. I got the wrap and a bottle of tea for $16 - really great deal for the airport and it was really good. I usually struggle with vegetarian food in the airports, but this was healthy, filling, tasty and affordable. I will say service is slow and there are things on the bar that are not on the menu (ie. Baba ganoush and pickled cabbage), so I had to keep asking what things were. Overall good experience though.

Vegetarian options: Falafel or portobello for your protein. Rice bowls, salads, wraps, and plates can all be vegetarian or vegan. Lots of veggies and sauces that all worked for a vegan diet. Great airport find!“

“I DO NOT RECOMMEND! I was trying to find a restaurant that would be willing to accommodate a group of eight with outdoor seating for lunch with a confirmed reservation. My party included an 80 year old, and someone in a wheelchair. Accessibility and a limited wait was important. I was thrilled to learn the manager at Cucina was willing to put a reserved sign on one of the outdoor tables for us. When I arrived a few days later the majority of the tables had umbrellas set up but ours did not so I went inside to ask if they would be willing to set one up for us. Within earshot I heard who I assume to be the manager tell the nice young man at the register that our group does not get any “special treatment” (since they don’t typically take reservations per se). So completely rude and so irresponsible to say where I could hear it. The woman taking the orders at the counter was impatient, unhelpful and not necessarily kind or pleasant. Her responses to my aunts’ questions were snarky. The young man working the register was really nice. The food was pretty good. I will never visit this restaurant again and certainly wouldn’t plan a big family birthday lunch here again. Disappointed to say the least.“

High-quality olives and pepperoncini peppers add a delightful kick. The generous block of feta, a boiled egg, and a piece of garlic toast elevate the dish. Everything is fabulous: roast chicken, chicken & beef kabob, bob kabob (aka koobideh), gyro, etc. Their house dressing is delicious and their portions are generous.
