The mixed lamb meat was freshly cooked, over perfectly cooked rice, and was accompanied by a lite green salad, and topped with their wonderful sauces! The Gyro plate was reasonably priced at $10.99! “We had never tried Afghani food before, and I am so glad we did. The staff was so friendly and helpful with any questions we had. They recommended the Mini Taste of Arocostia for our first time. Everything was FANTASTIC!!! The food was cooked perfectly. The service was great! We never had to ask to have our beverages filled up, because they were already on top of it before we had to ask. They packed all our leftovers into boxes for us for our way home. We will definitely be going back!“

“Superb. This delightful restaurant deserves your patronage.

Afghania is a delicious, warm hug of a restaurant with a wide array of choices for carnivores, vegetarians and vegans. The experience is enhanced by thoughtful, attentive service and a cozy atmosphere. Stairs to the second floor are on the steep side, so the less mobile might wish to opt for ground floor seating.

Our waiter welcomed our questions on the menu and his recommendations were spot on, geared impeccably to our tastes. Our party of three devoured our vegan pumpkin dumplings and Afghania salad, following up with lamb entrees. If you are a lamb devotee, the lamb shank dishes are especially delectable and you can expect to take food home.

Even if you’re not sober-curious, Afghania’s mocktails are worth tasting. Our group loved the sour cherry/lime and cranberry/orange libations, both light and refreshing. We finished the meal by splitting airy slices of chocolate and almond cake.

“Super yummy Afghan food and very affordable! I got the kabob combo with steak and chicken for around $20 during lunch, and it was so flavorful and filling. The owner (I think) was the nicest uncle ever — he even gave me free Afghan soup while I waited for my food. The chickpeas and salad on the side were fresh and tasty too.

The place itself is clean and cozy, just like the name says — literally a corner restaurant with a warm, welcoming vibe. Also, the owner speaks Spanish fluently which was so cool to see! Definitely coming back!“

“I can’t say enough good things about this place! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome — the staff greeted me with a smile and were attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is cozy yet lively, perfect for both a casual lunch or a nice dinner out.

The food was amazing — every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My meal came out hot and perfectly cooked, and the portions were generous without feeling over the top. I especially recommend trying their signature dish — it’s worth the trip alone!
