The food: phenomenal. I’ve frequented the restaurant a few times in the short time I found them and everything I’ve had is SEASONED to perfection. I’ve had the chicken, beef, and lamb kabobs. Whichever meat you prefer to eat, choose that! Cant go wrong with any of their kabobs. I had a dish with meat sauce and rice, and a few different sides. My favorite side are the potatoes. Those potatoes are made with love!
Overall, if you’re thinking about trying this place out, go for it!! If you don’t know what to try, just ask them!“

Everything was FANTASTIC!!! The food was cooked perfectly. The service was great! We never had to ask to have our beverages filled up, because they were already on top of it before we had to ask. They packed all our leftovers into boxes for us for our way home. We will definitely be going back!“

“I enjoyed the chicken and lamb combo plate. It came with massive amounts of rice and a clay oven backed bread. Loved it. The atmosphere was 3 stars for me due to the crowdedness of the layout. Too many tables and hence too many people in an open area. Also took awhile to get our food. Paid over $20 per person.“

My family and I host a lot of social gatherings and we have tried other afghan restaurants but for authentic cuisine and friendly afghan customer service there’s no beating Dunya. The owner (Mr. Abbasi) is a pleasure to do business with and extremely honest and more than fair in all his dealings which makes him our go to guy for all our families catering needs.“

“What a delightful experience! The food was outstanding, the service was wonderful, and late on a Sunday night we had a slow and quiet dinner - it was perfect start to finish. We had the assorted dumplings and the Afghania flight (so much food!) and every single thing had its own flavor profile and every meat was perfectly tender. So so good. “Panjshir is one of our favorite restaurants. For years, we used to regularly go to their Vienna location but after it closed and we moved further out, it was a challenge to go to the Falls Church restaurant. With that said, we have missed their delicious food so we decided to brave the traffic and go. Even after all these years we were not disappointed. The quality and consistency of the food is exactly the same. I'm a vegetarian and their vegetarian offerings from kadu chalow to seib, plus several others are a vegetarian's delight. Their aush soup was delicious. My husband ordered an appetizer of bulanee kachalu and enjoyed every single bite of these fried potato and ground beef turnovers.

“Absolutely worth the drive from Pittsburgh! We traveled all the way just to experience the food at Bonjon Rumi, and it did not disappoint. Every dish was full of authentic flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. You can truly taste the quality and care put into the food.

My partner ordered the Qabili Palau and received a perfectly prepared, heaping plate of this famous Kabul specialty, with lamb that was fall-off-the-bone tender and juicy, and a side of stewed chickpeas. For me, at the all-you-can-eat buffet I helped myself to delicious yellow dal, spinach, and simmered eggplant, a main course of chicken stew & brown basmati rice chalow, and a good bowl of rice pudding for dessert. Also, we both were pleased with the fresh, hot tandoori naan. For a good-value meal of excellent Afghan food that is served up expertly and quickly in a cheerful diner-like atmosphere -- I recommend this place most highly!“

“I visited Timorian before when it had the previous owner, and I recently came back after the new management took over. I can honestly say there is a big difference. The new owner, Abdul Bari, and the staff were very welcoming and kind, and the customer service was excellent. The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere felt much nicer. The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. You can really tell the new management cares about quality and about their customers. I know there are older reviews from before, but the restaurant now has new ownership and truly deserves another chance. “I tried the kabob platter at Kabul Castle Kabob and it was a great Afghan meal. The rice was fluffy and flavorful, topped with sweet carrots and raisins. The kabobs were tender and nicely grilled, especially the chicken which was juicy and well seasoned. The meal also came with fresh bread, a crispy samosa, chickpeas, sabzi, and a fresh salad, which made the plate feel complete. The portions were generous, the quality was high, and the price was very reasonable for the quantity you get. A very satisfying and authentic Afghan meal.“
