“Today I had a really satisfying meal at K-Street inside K Market.

The pork cutlet was very comforting and balanced — just a classic, reliable donkatsu flavor.
What impressed me the most was the tuna kimbap. The ratio of egg and carrot was excellent, and the flavor was clean, mild, and not salty or overpowering at all. It felt very different from the typical overly seasoned $9.99 kimbap.

Everything tasted fresh and well balanced.

Set along the historic stretch of Pennsylvania Avenue in Foggy Bottom, it blends the charm of old Washington architecture with a bright, modern food‑hall atmosphere. The moment you step inside, you’re met with a lively mix of students from George Washington University, locals grabbing a quick bite, and visitors exploring the neighborhood — all creating a space that feels welcoming and full of life.

What makes Western Market stand out is the sheer variety of restaurants packed under one roof. You can wander from stall to stall and find everything from fried chicken and Mediterranean bowls to sushi, pizza, bagels, desserts, smoothies, and more. It’s the kind of place where everyone in your group can choose something completely different and still sit together in the shared seating areas. The layout encourages exploring, and the open design makes it easy to take in the sights, smells, and sounds of the space.

We visited on a busy night, and the energy only added to the experience. My wife picked up food from another restaurant, while I stopped at Roaming Rooster for something simple — French fries. And calling them delicious or perfect doesn’t quite do them justice. They were hot, crispy, seasoned beautifully, and served in a portion so generous I didn’t think I’d finish them. But they were so good that I ended up eating every last one and was absolutely stuffed afterward.

Even with the crowd, everything moved smoothly. The vendors were friendly, the service was quick, and the whole space felt clean and well‑managed. It’s the kind of food hall that makes you want to come back just to try something new each time.

“The square is one of the more quiet food halls in DC, and is closed on Sundays, BUT is personally one of my favorite spots to go when I want to work off my laptop and be in a nice space. The building/central area is beautiful (it’s an indoor “courtyard” feel— where the skylights illuminate the space) and I can always find a seat. The food vendors are great and have a wide diversity of options which I love! A lot of cool events are hosted here on the ground floor and the fifth floor (Umbrella Art Fair and Femme Art Fair to name a few) so always look out in the calendar to see!“

“Nice place to eat pizza, or have a coffee. On one side is Amy's pizza, the other is a nice coffee place. Going further down the hallway they face each other in, the room expands into a circular eating area, with bar-style high tables and chairs, and regular restaurant booths, the top complete with multiple layered light rings, and on the side of the walls closer to the ceiling, eccentric paintings layer the curved walls.“

“Such an amazing place - will always come back!

It is an owner-run place, and the owner is just a wonderful human being. When my friend sent a package to my place, it got erroneously delivered to Luna Hall. The owner called my friend proactively, and since she wasn't in town to pick it up, he even kept it at a safe place for several days before she could pick it up. This was a genuine act of kindness. Many others wouldn't have bothered, just deposed the package or used it for themselves. We were impressed by the integrity and good character, and will recommend this place simply for this reason: I am sure the same care and diligence go into preparing the food and running this place.“

“Cool spot. Discovered this place by attending and art exhibit and was surprised by the food court, bar, and ambiance. This is a nice place to grab something quick or sit and relax in the atrium or bar. In the evening the lighting and music was a nice vibe too.“

“I had the best time taking a Toscana Market Cooking Class! My team and I decided to switch up our team bonding and do something more fun and engaging! Chef Daniele guided us through shaping different pastas and it was such a fun experience! We even had a sauce off competition to see which group created the best pasta sauce! Afterwards, we all got to sit down and eat what we made together. 10/10 experience and can't wait to do it again with my team, friends, or even for a fun date night!“

“Just like the name suggests, it felt like enjoying a home-cooked meal. I was so happy to have such delicious, thoughtfully prepared Korean food, and my kids loved it too. Highly recommend the seolleongtang and the bulgogi stone pot bibimbap!“
