Gharer Khabar Reviews
Very friendly. Makes you feel like home.
Hands down the best authentic Bangladeshi food in the dmv area 😋
Good Bangladeshi restaurant in DC that is a good spot to grab some deshi food if you’re visiting the White House and nearby areas. The dishes we particularly enjoyed were Daal Puri, Morog Polau, Laal shak, Shutki Kochur Loti, Golda Chingri. The owners were nice. Cleanliness could be improved a bit.

Gharer Khabar offers a variety of Bangladeshi dishes, with standouts including their samosa, Chapli kebab, biryani, khichuri, chicken and mutton curry. Customers have praised the authentic taste and consistency of the food, particularly enjoying the biryani. The restaurant serves simple Bangladeshi dishes that taste exactly like home-cooked food and are very tasty, with some dishes like hilsha fish, beef, and khichuri receiving special praise. The food is not too oily or spicy, making it comfortable to eat without feeling overwhelmed. The portions are generous and enough for two people. The restaurant is open late till 9, is Halal, and offers parking. There is a positive note on the service, especially for dishes like Roast Chicken and Fuchka, which are highly recommended. The menu also includes fish, morog polao, beef curry, tehari, shami kabab, golab jamun, mango lassi, and borhani, all with authentic Bangladeshi taste at reasonable costs. Some comments mention a need for improvement in presentation, cleanliness, and ambiance, as well as a suggestion to replace Coca-Cola beverages with more authentic drink options.
