About Hunan Gate

Hunan Gate serves authentic Chinese food in large portions, with a focus on Dongbei cuisine and traditional dishes like cumin lamb and three pepper chicken. The restaurant also offers a variety of Northeastern Chinese dishes, such as beans with pork ribs and stir-fried pork, which remind some visitors of home-cooked meals. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing quick food delivery and Chinese menus that highlight the authentic options. In addition to Dongbei specialties, there are some Sichuan-style dishes available for those who enjoy spicy flavors. The restaurant is especially appreciated by guests familiar with Chinese food culture and those seeking dishes from JiangZe (江苏/浙江), including regions like Shanghai, Nanjing, and Hangzhou. Overall, Hunan Gate is a great place for homestyle Chinese food with a wide selection of traditional options, making it a top choice for authentic Chinese cuisine.

A real gem, especially if you know the food culture and their specialization. They make good North Eastern dishes, but their specialty is actually JiangZe (江苏/浙江), that's anywhere between Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou. The owners are old school, which may be misunderstood by modern quick to judge culture, but if you are there to appreciate the food and not there to enforce political correctness, then you are at the right place.
