“A friend has been recommending Woodruff’s for some time now. I live in Roanoke so it is a bit of a trek to get there. This weekend, I found myself post breakup and needed a distraction so what better thing to do than toss the wee ones in the car with your bestie and drive for pie? When I tell you this place is what any doctor would recommend to mend the spirit, I say that with that I have. As the kids would put it, no cap. The minute you walk in, it feels like you are in grandma’s kitchen. There is such kind, loving energy. Darnell, Angela, and Melissa were there during our visit and they took time to engage with each customer yet made me feel like I was the whole reason they showed up to work. And the pie?? 🤤 I may have had pie for breakfast the last two days. We tried the apple, chocolate peanut butter, sweet potato, buttermilk, lemon chess, and Keylime pie topped with the FRESH hand pies. (I had to wrestle my oldest for one bite of the peach and they were kind enough to share the cherry.) For me: Woodruff’s is two thumbs up all around.”

“The food here is amazing. It has such an authentic, comforting delicious taste. I am a fellow traveler here for work and I am coming to find Lynchburg does not have many food options. This place has empanadas, the best tacos, tamales, enfrijoladas or enmoladas, tostadas (mouth watering), fresh waters or “aguas frescas.” The menu has so much more; I recommend this place and it is a 10/10.”

“3/30/22 Ordered our subs through the app for the first time because we figured the store would be busy. Tonight is their fund raiser for the Special Olympics. As expected, the store was very busy. Picked up our order and headed home. Everything we ordered was exceptional! Hot subs were hot, each requested change had been made correctly and it was ready when promised! Kudos to the Old Forest Rd location on a superb meal! 👏🏼”

“For my 1st time ever trying CAVA & Falafel, it was pretty amazing!!! & i am super excited to remember to order the Falafel sometime very soon again!!! The staff was very helpful & friendly as well. Love the drink options; so many lemonades!!! Big fan & would definitely try again soon for that reason alone, bc i love lemonade! Unfortunately, there was a soapy cilantro taste in the dressing i ordered, but next time, i will try more sample cups to be sure before deciding firmly. Big props for offering sample cups, btw. Due to the eco-friendly bowls, utensils, & straw paper, I felt elated that I was helping the planet a bit. The barrel trashcans are a nice homey/natural touch as well accompanying the natural wood looking tables & chairs. The women's bathroom was dark & freezing to where even the soap was cold. I do understand it's for sanitary reasons, just like hospitals, but perhaps some tinted/filmed skylights could improve the lighting & also help with natural germ fighting? The sink water pressure was way up & since it stayed on, I worry that I might've been wasting water the longer I stayed in there trying to make sure it go off. On a better note, the TP was strong & soft= 5 stars in my book. Happy with my experience & will definitely give it a 2nd try in the near future.”

“My wife and I drive an hour to get these delicious wings! The atmosphere is perfect for chilling and watching a game with PLENTY of great beer choices. if you're lucky enough to sit at the bar with Tabitha, you'll be spoiled! We love this place and have only been twice but it'll be a regular weekend getaway for these wings! I hear their burgers are good too but I'm so addicted to the wings I found it hard to venture out. Oh! Even the side salads are the freshest around for a restaurant like this. TOP NOTCH from front to back with service to match! Already looking at the calendar for our next visit.... “We were in the area for Liberty University Graduation. The place we stayed recommended it to us, since it was close, we gave it a try. Food was excellent (made to order), service was great, and place made you feel like you were back in 50's. The wait for service took a few minutes, however, they were busy and only 2 waitresses working. We enjoyed the food and service, that we ate there twice during the week we stayed.”

“love their food. it's always fresh, organic and delicious. only problem I have is with their pico. some times veggies are not cut evenly so you might get a big chunk of onion or chili, then you might get a big blast of that one taste instead of a nice rounded combination. it's also good to know that everything is organic or they dont offer it.”

“Often get orders wrong in drive through. Prices are too high. Didn't have hot chocolate last time through. Window servers are often not friendly, except Jules. Slow service often. Sandwiches are good if you can put up with the rest of it.”
