The dining room of the Forum Hotel, in the business & law school grounds of the University of Virginia; the hotel opened a few months ago. We were three for a 12:30 lunch on a Saturday. Very busy and both the bar and kitchen were way behind. Our server, Eric, was terrific with apologies, updates and a very nice free appetizer. When the food came, some of it was spectacular while some slightly salty. The venue also felt more like a huge hotel lobby than a restaurant.
We were excited to try this place. Gabe was our server, and he did a fantastic job. Ambiance was OK, but as other reviewers have noted, the noise level can be quite high because of its proximity to the bar/lobby of the hotel. Unfortunately, my husband‘s salad arrived and consisted of an unacceptable amount of brown lettuce. Like, how did anyone think this was okay to send out? My entrée arrived, and was lukewarm at best.
