“I’ve been to Poke Sushi Bowl a few times now and love it! Such a great little treasure in Fredericksburg. The staff have been friendly and welcoming. I was fortunate to travel to Hawaii last year and feasted on authentic poke bowl at Tamura’s. This place does justice to poke bowls! The free cup of hot green tea is what really won my heart though. They sell the same brand of cold green tea served in Japan and the hot tea was also the same as I experienced in Japan. 🍵 I wish this business the best and hope Fredericksburg shows it some love.“

“This is where the magic happens. The food spans from the traditional ramen broth of the Nas Original to the warming depths of Mr. Spicy, the smoky vegetarian and vegan options of Smokey and the Veg to the incredible umami powerhouse of the Momo Chicken. Bowls are absolutely easy to share, and pairing a spicy ramen with even the Fiery Ahi Poke Bowl gives you a contrast of hot and cooling flavors as you alternate between bowls. You have to try it! The sushi is delicious, and the appetizers (especially the spicy edamame) round out the bill for an unforgettable flavor journey. This is meditative food for the soul. The attentive staff meet all of your needs, and the playlists running are chill and fun. This restaurant delivers foodie zen with great value and should be on your Charlottesville list of places not only to try but to visit again and again.“

“Excellent sushi!!! I love the sushi bowl and the lemonade. It is always super delicious. The ingredients were fresh, the food was made in front of me, and the environment explores with positive energy. There is seating inside the restaurant, but I usually order takeout. The staff were friendly and inviting. There is plenty of parking as it is located in a shopping center.
Vegetarian options: It's a sushi place. I'm not sure of the difference between vegan and vegetarian, but if I am correct in understanding that vegans don't eat any meat or dairy products while vegetarians do eat dairy products and fish, then I think fish, rice, tofu, seaweed, and soups are appropriate.
Parking: It's located in a vast area where there is a huge shopping center.
Kid-friendliness: There were kids playing in the restaurant when I visited. I assume they were the owners children as they were behind the counter.
Wheelchair accessibility: It's located on the bottom level and the restaurant opens up to a wife area that has plenty of room for a wheelchair.“

“Yes, Zen and Now can be very tasty, almost authentic. But they need to maintain quality control and take their time preparing dishes. It’s such a popular place it can get frenetic and this is when preparation can miss. Service is fantastic, we have never experienced anything but sweet professionalism and just nice people. My only real gripe is the music is TOO loud - what happened to conversational level volume, that means - in the background! Also, what happened to playing Japanese music?! I’m from San Francisco - the best Japanese food and style…never loud, pleasssse.🙏“

“I have never gone to a buffet restaurant that wasn't disgusting. The food at Garden East is fresh and very well prepared; the mixed vegetables, five slice chicken, string beans with garlic sauce, and whole mushrooms with oyster sauce were of homemade quality--deliciius and simple. The pan fried dumplings contain a perfectly respectable pork, ginger, and scallion filling, but the time they spend in the service try reduces the actual wonton leathey and unpleasant. Of course, avoid the sushi and I would not recommend that you eat the large pieces of fried frozen fish sitting in murky liquid. The dessert area offers tiny pieces of tasty chocolate and coconut cakes, but you must avoid the chocolate pudding (because it's tacky to eat pudding in public) and the rock hard lychees.
I want to stress that this is easily the only buffet restaurant I would ever go back to, and if I had to choose between going to Garden East or any of the Chinese of Thai places in Charlottesville, I would pick Garden East every time.“

“Perfectly executed modern Japanese cuisine. Their wine list and sake options are exceptional. Do ask for recommendations on the Sake flights, they have some real gems. The fish and cooked dishes are impeccably prepared.“
