The three of us dined in one of the Locals 3 dining rooms. It was a cold night and they had their wood burning stove providing a lovely warm atmosphere to enjoy our delicious meals. Our server, Ben, did a great job serving up our food and drinks. This was our third visit enjoying our meals and cozy relaxed vib.
The Local has many great things going for it. The food is delicious — not fancy, not haute cuisine, but just really delicious. The ambience is terrific — relaxing, intimate, homey. The servers are friendly, helpful and efficient. And the prices are quite reasonable in this era of insane price gouging. So why only three stars?

Even though the food was really good, I was disappointed by the effort to give us a really bad table, crammed between a wine rack and the bar passageway, even though we had a reservation and the restaurant was practically empty. It's a bad habit many restaurants cling to -- offering the worst table in hopes of getting rid of it -- but it sours the whole experience.
