“We have been going to Virginia Cheese Company since Ashtyn opened it... right in the middle of the pandemic which took real courage and commitment. We have an annual wine and cheese party and prior to VA Cheese, we ordered in cheeses from Murray's, Zingermans, Rogue River, etc. Ashtyn now sources any and all of those cheeses but keeps the cooler stocked with all sorts of cheeses we otherwise never heard about. The sandwiches are made fresh and are delicious if you want to sit down and eat in the friendly, Parisian like setting in Freemason, or you can take it to go to the Pagoda and sit outside. We who live in Norfolk are lucky to have a cheese monger on par with Neal's Yard or Murray's (pre-Kroger takeover) right here in the middle of our little city.“
“Great neighborhood bar. Friendly people and the kitchen is clean, bathrooms, clean and the service is great unlike what the old bitty Carol said in her review. That was unfair and she obviously is an old bat. I don’t know many people up there, but been enough times to know it’s clean, friendly and a great little neighborhood restaurant and bar.“
“06/10/05I had a blast at this bar. Go during a car race. They give drinks for crashes. I asked for a menu in this place, they gave me a pizza shop that would drop off. The balls on these people.So much fun. Be respectful and you will have fun.“
“Layout is open. Even on the third floor, very spacious during busy hours. Second level offers a sort of hideaway for those who might be a tad overwhelmed by the third floor. Offering of three formal mocktails on the menu is great - really enjoy the yuzu beverage. Fries were the unexpected highlight — McDonald’s style and flavor. Mac and cheese was okay. The chicken sando was exactly as described and delicious. Hit the spot.“
“Great lil San Diego style burrito bar tucked away on High Street! This place is a true gem, from the owner to the cooks...all the staff is amazing! The carne fries are one of my favorites, and their queso is to die for! Always have a new and delicious Margarita of the month, typically themed with any upcoming holidays! They have recently started having Trivia on Monday nights, A classic style game night on Wednesdays and sometimes even have live local musicians on the weekends.“
“Expect to wait if going on busy brunch day. Not a fan of unisex Bathrooms. No soap in one, and Pee all over the seat in the other. Service and food were okay. The sticky Chicken Waffle Cones nuggets were delicious. I also had the Double Decker Sandwich but my Sweet Potato Fries were cold. My friend had “the Big Breakfast”, other than the scrambled eggs being extra scrambled. She was pleased. We both had the Mimosa flights, and equally thought they were disappointing. They seem rushed and flavorless! However, we are willing to try this location on a different day“
“The service can be a bit slow... but the good is very good. We normally order the Ruben's w/ onion rings or their potato wedge things. The Brussel sprout appetizer is absolutely delicious. We don't normally eat in anymore due to service and sometimes it's a bit loud but we will order out. They are open late so my husband can pick up on his way home from work and we can eat late night.“
