“Great place for ice cream treats or hanging out after sports or shows at the high school. This one is clean and had a good staff, although they're sometimes stingy with toppings. The coke freestyle machine is fun if you're eating in and the outside seating is nice.Kid-friendliness: It's Dairy Queen so yeah. And if you have a big herd of kids, you can buy a whole box of dilly barsDietary restrictions: They now added a dairy-free dilly bar made with coconut creme. Vegan dessert options also include the misty slush (not the version with creme). No vegan entrees though.“
“The server was attentive and the food was served hot and fresh. Got the mushroom burger and onion rings. The first batch of rings were very small and our server gave us another order of regularly-sized onion rings. Children's Mac&Cheese was apparently delicious and approximately sized 'cause of granddaughter are them up quickly & didn't ask for help eating them.“
“ATMOSPHEREMy wife and I arrived at 10:00 a.m. for a Saturday morning breakfast. We tried the main door, which opened into a darkened restaurant. A man appeared from the back who directed us to another entrance, which was not clearly marked for breakfast-focused diners. The space is darkly lit, with a bar and a small stage for evening musical performances. The buffet is set up along the edge of the low-set stage, with pancake-making operations set up on the bar. Tables are close together, with heavy iron chairs, which make it rather difficult to navigate. Initially, there was only one table in use when we arrived, with 2-3 employees standing at the pancake bar, making the impression that there was little business. However! With the space issues laid aside, the food and the service were remarkable.FOODThis being a buffet-style breakfast, there was a large selection of detectables to choose from: bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, fried potatoes and sweet potatoes, biscuits and gravy - the whole gamut in ample supply. At the pancake bar was orange juice, fruit, nuts, raisins, butter, syrup, brown sugar, and, of course, pancakes made fresh to order (chocolate chips or blueberries optional). Large plates or platters made a generous self-service helping a "one trip gets all" experience.SERVICEThe staff were friendly and engaging. They were attentive to refills on hot drinks, offers to make pancakes, giving directions, and clearing used plates.SUMMARYWhile the space was cramped and dark for a breakfast place doing double duty as a bar at night, the food and service were definitely worth $13. I'd like to recommend three improvements:1. Better signage at the outside entrances2. Brighter lighting during the day3. Replace the heavy, bulky chairs with chairs that take less space so customers can move around the room with greater ease.My wife and I agree that The Blue Hen gets two thumbs up - we'll definitely be back! ????“
“Great food. I wish they was closer...but we r never disappointedVegetarian options: I had a veggie sandwich and idipped it in malt vinegar, and it hit the spot. The large fries are super large and well worth the money of course, we did have a few peanuts as we waited on the food“
“In refernce to my visit to your Christiansburg Virginia location. There are several great restaurants in a close vicinity to visit, but since my wife and I haven't had Ocharleys in quite some time, we chose it. First off, the wait staff was exceptionally polite; which is a rarity as of the past several years. I was very impressed with the mannerisms and willingness to help us and again how polite and well spoken our waiter was. It was very refreshing. The appetizer was hot, fresh, and exactly as I hoped it would be. Our salads promptly arrived soon afterwards. They were cool, crisp, and again- right on the money. Last were our entrees. My steak wasn't cooked quite to the degree that I requested, and the issue was immediately handled by the manager herself. The way she handled it was extremely professional and attentive. While running a busy restaurant on a Saturday night and still finding the time to handle a customers issue was very impressive to me. Oh, let me mention- the reason she was aware of the issue is that she was walking around asking customers how their meal was. I was so very impressed by this. After my steak was cooked a little more to my liking, she brought it out (After taking it back and correcting the issue personally) and ensure that I was satisfied. After we finished our meal, I initiated a brief conversation and got her name. LaVerne Petty is the employee responsible for my excellent experiece. I will also be giving a stellar yelp and google review- which I do frequently. Thanks to Ms. Petty, I had one of the best dining experiences I have had in several years. I think it's largely agreed that customer serive has gone downhill the past decade or so. It was truly refreshing to have an employee that obviously takes pride in their job and position, and also has that old school work ethic we all miss seeing. I truly hope that somebody in human resources will take the time to commend her through her boss, as I have taken my time to type this email. I know that all too often people are quick to complain, but not as fast to commend when it is due. You truly have the right person on the job with Ms. Petty. I can assure you that your business is being ran to the highest possible standards and that people do pay attention to things other than their meals or cell phones while dining. Every single employee was hustling. I never saw one on their phone, or talking to their buddies... they were all hard at work for the duration of our one hour visit. The attention to detail was also very noticable, apparently Ms. Petty runs a tight ship and does not let her crew goof around... In closing, again I truly hope that this email reaches Ms. Petty and goes as high up the chain as possible. Good employees deserved to be recognized and employees like these make your business money. I will absolutely be back to visit soon and will as stated before be sure to spread my kind words through internet reviews and word of mouth. Thank you again Ms. Petty for such a great experiece! You were truly wonderful.“
“They've got some great people here, but not everyone who interacts with the public has perfected the social mask that is all but required of fast food service. The food can either be really good, or just kind of average. I recommend using the drive thru, as the dining room is often barren of others after the breakfast rush is over and usually is not well maintained. The 4 stars is mainly because they have a few 5 star employees, but are brought down by the 50/50 on whether the food will be great and the occasional issues with the other employees.“
“My server was the best server i ever had.Her name was paige! As soon as we walked in she greeted us very kindly and sweetly. she smiled and treated us very kind and i want to thank her with this review. hopefully it makes her day because she sure made ours.“
“When it comes to McDonald’s, you’re pretty much getting the same food at every location. It’s McDonald’s - you know what you’re getting. One of the reasons that I love McDonald’s is the consistency. To me, there is nothing better than a crisp McDonald’s Coca Cola. This McDonald’s location is my favorite in the NRV. Employees are very kind and actually seem happy to be at work. That makes me happy LOL. And this location is usually pretty clean too, I always see employees cleaning up inside. I like going to this one- through the drive thru or in the store. The employees are what makes a particular McDonald’s succeed and this McDonald’s has some of the best. Thank you to the employees!“
“Even on a rainy day, the ladies running the front were darting car to car with a smile and quick curt service! If you like an americana style, drive up, burger place, then this place rocks! First time here, but they'll see me back again!“
