“First, Riner is a quintessential small town in Montgomery County, Virginia just west of Floyd.
This roadside restaurant has a menu dominated by Italian American dishes and pizza, which we did not sample. Based on the middle eastern aroma of the grill, we tried the lamb and rice platter and the mixed grill platter. Wow! Excellent flavor, subtle but perfect in the rice. Each comes with salad on the plate. “White sauce” excellent. I suspect the gyros are also good. Congratulations to the cook. Sorry I cannot report on Italian dishes—maybe next time. Table service excellent. Seems like there’s robust take out traffic.“

“I haven’t been to the restaurant yet but we ordered the XLG Supreme and the LG Four cheese and it was the best pizza I have ever had. It has such an authentic quality to the crust, the sauce is a little sweet and the toppings all tastes fresh. Definitely will be ordering again/coming in soon!“

“My husband and I went there with our one year old daughter today. Our waiter was an absolute sweetheart (I forget her name 😭😭) she brought my daughter out dough from the back to play with! It was such a sweet gesture. I’ve been a regular there for years. I love the food and the staff. Highly recommend the Soriano Italian Sub, calzones, pesto pastas, and the Greek salad! Yum!“

“Any time we’ve delivered through Highlander Pizza the staff has been phenomenally kind. My fiancé and I have been sick this week and the delivery was quick, and the driver was very friendly. Always appreciate the service and great food from this place.“

“We had the BEST server — his name was Alex and we came in with a big group of people and he gave us the best service I’ve ever had in a sit down restaurant. He dealt with the stress of a big group very well and gave us chocolates at the end since we were coming from graduation. 10/10 service thank you Alex!“
