“An absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable--Dederick was attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The tasting room, loft area and expansive patio with breathtaking views were awesome and very relaxing. The wines were all good quality. We preferred the whites over red, especially the Chardonnay- they offer 3 versions- oaked, unoaked and barrel fermented! We brought bottles of all three home. Reds were primarily bordeax style blends, each with unique characteristics.It's rare to find a place that exceeds expectations on all fronts like this. “Beautiful location and great cider. The cost just feels extremely high to me. It was $40 for a flight of eight 6 oz pours. This was surprising as most flights of four pours run $10-13, so I was thinking around 26 bucks for the eight glasses. I was shocked when they rang up the bill. $5.50 for a small cup of very flat root beer. My daughter didn't even finish it. $60 with taxes and tip.Yet, the cider was phenomenal. I guess you're paying for top shelf quality. They have a ton to choose from and are celiac safe.I rated the atmosphere as a three and that's because they do not have or enforce a leash law for dogs. I am a dog lover and have three dogs. We did not bring them with us and I'm glad that we did not. There were multiple dogs off leash and we saw one pint get knocked over by a dog and then we witnessed a dog fight which included three spilled drinks and some swear words. We often bring our dogs to breweries, wineries, and cideries and our dogs and others are always on a leash.The nature trail was cute and our younger kids loved it.Service was amazing.We will definitely be back but with a little bit more cash in our pocket next time. And without our dogs. The cider was worth the drive.“

“My husband and I just had our wedding reception at Barrel Oak Winery and Brewery. As soon as we walked in and saw the beautiful views, we were hooked. Things only got better when we had the absolute pleasure meeting and working with Melissa. Working with her and her team was delightful and easy, everyone was so accommodating, kind, and welcoming. Melissa guided us through the planning effortlessly. At our event, the wonderful staff even shared that they had been praying for us to have great weather!! I highly recommend having any event at Barrel Oak, everything from the ambiance to the wine and beer to the food was fantastic. We left with great memories, full bellies and new friends! We can’t wait to come back every year for our anniversary.We also started at the cottage on property and had a wonderful time. It is beautifully decorated, has a huge shower and bath an incredible views, definitely recommend staying there!“

“Lunch in a Friday was Perfect. Service and food impeccable, prompt but not rushed service. We loved it. We enjoyed the chef's lunch menu which had something for everyone to choose from. 3 courses plus an amuse bouch to start. Absolutely delicious!“

“Upon arrival we were greeted very friendly by Amanda and Whiticar, the owners. It was very kind and thoughtful to be provided warm blankets as we were cold but wanted to sit outdoors. They are both amazing people! Very welcoming hosts as we spoke to them for a long time. They gave us honest recommendations. We spent 3 hours enjoying the view. It was so refreshing and relaxing. The wine and charcuterie board were delicious! Phenomenal place, highly recommend 11/10. The price was well suitable. The quality of the product and view speaks for itself. I wish we would’ve had enough time to go again (I was out of town). Hopefully next time we make a trip back to VA.“

The wines are excellent - we left with quite a few bottles - and really enjoyed our time with the staff and found the tasting to be very educational and interesting! “I am not a wine lover, but my boyfriend is. We took an impromptu trip to this winery yesterday and let me tell you, as soon as I walked in the door it felt like home. The owner greeted us at the door and asked what kind of wines or alcohol in general we normally go for. He then walked us over to the bar and had me, since I'm the picky one, try a few before selecting what I want to sip on! I actually found one that I enjoyed, a first! A total win!
