Don't let how busy the location is fool you. The food is just alright. The ramen wasn't anything special. For me, it didn't have flavor that made me feel like I couldn't have made some packaged ones at home and enjoyed it just as much. I wish I could be more specific overall.

My 5-star review is long overdue as I have been going to Genki since it opened. This Japanese restaurant offers great Japanese food with American twists and cozy ambiance that meet my high expectations for Japanese restaurants (I lived years in Japan). They prepare some Japanese staples, such as Saba sushi and fried Oysters, remarkably well, which is hard to find in the US. Fried oysters are juicy inside, not overcooked and dry. The food is okay. I went there 3 times, the freshness of the sushi is different, but overall is acceptable.
