I moved away from the area in 1999 and going to Troy’s for an amazing cheesesteak was perfect. On top of that, the Owner had overheard that it was my 52nd birthday and surprised our party of 3 with Baklava! Can’t wait to go back!”

I want to acknowledge the three employees who provided outstanding service for me: Naomi, Kirstin, and Morgan. To get up so incredibly early and be at work with such a strong character, is very notable. And noble. Especially Naomi, as she’s the mom of two very young children - that’s very, very impressive to me.

To upper Starbucks management, please acknowledge the excellence that these good people provide to your team, in person. That would mean a whole lot to me and it’s really the only reason I patronize your businesses along my vending route throughout small town/rural Appalachia. In coming to know these types of folks for over a decade since I’ve been running this route, they have very much helped save my life. Thank you.”

“I’ve always loved eating here, but these last few times I’ve noticed that they will charge dinner prices for lunch. Its not that big of a deal but its very misleading when you’re expecting to pay one price then get another on your receipt, knowing they’re doing it on purpose. Ill still eat here honestly, its just frustrating.”

“Would prefer to give this location at 4.5 because sometimes the pizza isn’t made with care and is all crust or is lacking cheese, etc. Overall, however, this location is our favorite in the area. The staff is mostly young people and they are always kind and courteous. This location seems to have a crew that gets along and banters together which I find refreshing. My wait times are always reasonable. Sometimes they have cookies for kids which my littles really enjoy. For a small building, there’s adequate outside seating but the lobby just has a couple of chairs to wait for your order to be made. The building looks new and fresh outside and the inside lobby and viewable kitchen are always super clean and inviting. We ordered last night and waited for it to be made which took less than 20 minutes. We were treating one of my children as the other is away and it was one of our best experiences so far with staff and the quality of products.

Kid-friendliness: Sometimes this location has complementary short bread cookies in a pack for kids!”

“Love Sal’s, and the food is always on point, but our service experience today was extremely disappointing. We asked for patio seating. There were only two other tables (both had 4 people), one group was at the end of their meal, the others halfway through theirs. We sat there with no service for 15 mins and finally had to go in and get someone. Food came quickly…I’m guessing because the waitress could tell we were ticked off. Anyway, it was at least another 15-20 mins before we were checked on again, and took another 7 mins for my drink refill. We normally tip 25%, but today it was about 9%, and that was because I didn’t want to be a total jerk. Again, very disappointed.”

“Found this gem a while back. Went back today and the more I explore the menu the more good surprises I find. Tacos Pastor, spot on. Guacamole was fresh and not powdered like most other places. Salsa has cumin in it that makes it a step above other places. Queso was excellent and house made hot salsa was nice with the meal. Should have took pictures as presentation looked like it was in a much higher end place. Pride and effort in what they serve shows in the whole operation. We will be back so save us some of that good hot salsa.”

“This is a very unique setting for a restaurant - and the owners have hit a home run pulling it all together for an inviting eatery.

The wait staff can't do enough to make your experience top quality. And the flavor combinations are off-the-charts fantastic. Be ware - you will be tempted to overeat here as it is all a great experience!”

“PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! 🤩 A few years back when I moved to the area, I was eager to explore downtown’s food scene. At the time, this spot had a bit of a rowdy reputation, so I steered clear—then not long after, it shut down.

Fast-forward to now: I saw folks on Facebook raving about the new Screamer’s and had to check it out for myself. So the three of us gave it a shot—and WOW! 🍴 The food was delicious, the prices were surprisingly affordable, and the service? Absolutely top-notch. Joe, the bartender/ partner, was super friendly and clearly passionate about the place. I also heard some upgrades are in the works, which is exciting!

The vibe is cozy (which I love), but it is a small space, so I can see it filling up quickly. They host karaoke on Fridays—I'll definitely be back to check that out. Hopefully the acoustics strike a good balance in the intimate setting. Too much volume can crowd the mood, but I’m hopeful they keep it fun and just right.
