Excellent attentive service and bar, well prepared mezze plates and overall a fun place for lively conversation and reunions with ages ranging from 12 to 92 from multiple cultures. Particularly liked the non alcoholic & vegan options. Thanks to Eli & colleagues for keeping the party going all evening!“

The only complaint was an automatic 20% service charge added to the bill which, as explained on the bill, was NOT to be considered as the gratuity. We ordered expensive dinners and are generous tippers and did not feel we should be charged a service fee on top of our normal gratuity.“

“We had an amazing brunch at The Saga by Seven Reasons Group, located at The Ritz-Carlton, DC. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and truly exceeded my expectations!

“Don’t let Atxondo’s modest looks deceive you. I was skeptical but some friends wanted to try this place so I went along. I was very pleasantly surprised. We ate vegetarian and everything was excellent. I can recommend the brussel sprouts, tortilla española, crispy potatoes, coliflor, golden beets, fried shishitos, and risotto. I almost forgot to mention the interesting drink menu and the best flan I’ve ever had. Service was great too. Go with a group so you can try everything!“

The decor brightened an otherwise gloomy and stormy day. The service was efficient and friendly. Menu labeled for dietary restrictions and can ask server for help. The food (brunch prix fixe with burrata (no bread) and steak eggs) had the right flavors to waken the palate and satisfy the soul and the stomach. Kudos to the right amount of salt on each dish to highlight all the deliciousness. Cantaloupe to Spain was a balanced cocktail with unique flavors and smooth to drink.

Overall a memorable brunch experience and I'll be recommending to friends in and out of DC. Look forward to coming back.“

“My wife and I received a gift card for Guarado's a couple of years ago and FINALLY made the time to go. I was not disappointed. The food was perfectly cooked and, while there was a small mix up with our order, they took ownership of the problem and made it right with us. The only other thing I wish we had was more bread to sop up that beautifully fragrant oil with the gambas al ajillo. I definitely plan on coming again!“

“I don’t usually write reviews—when I do, it’s because the experience was either exceptionally bad or truly outstanding. This one might be a bit long, so let’s start from the beginning. It’s been 10 years since I moved to Virginia, and I have to say, I love it here. That said, I do miss the beaches and the incredible food from Miami. Ever since I moved, I’ve been searching for the perfect spot—a place where both the food and the service are amazing. Let’s be honest, that’s hard to find. Often, the food is great but the service is just okay, or the service is excellent but the food falls short. When looking for a place to celebrate my wedding anniversary, a few options came up, and one of them was Sabores Tapas Bar. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it there at the time and ended up going to two other places—one was okay, the other was awful. Later, I told my wife we needed to try Sabores, maybe on New Year’s Day. Again, we ended up at a “safe” spot we like to visit. The food and service were good, but it was just our usual go-to. Fast forward to last week: my best friend from Puerto Rico came to visit with his family. He loves to eat, and his wife can be hard to please. This time, we decided to go to Sabores Tapas Bar. I’ll admit, I was nervous—I wanted them to have a great experience, but pleasing everyone is never easy. Finally, we went. What can I say? The food was amazing, and the service was just as incredible. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating. I had high expectations—growing up, my house was always full because my friends came over for my mom’s cooking. She’s an amazing cook. Mom, forgive me for saying this, but Sabores Tapas Bar is as good as, if not better than, your cooking, and the service was amazing. Wow. I’ve found the place. It’s so good that I want to go back and try dishes I normally don’t like, just to see if they can make me love them. I can’t wait to return. My taste buds have found the love of their life at Sabores Tapas Bar.“

“Hidden gem, although has been around forever! Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, attentive service. Spanish fine dining tucked away on 18th St NW just south of I St. I'd been wanting to try it, but was put off a little by high prices and white tablecloths. Don't worry, the vibe inside is more laid back than it looks, and the prices fairly reasonable. Happy Hour especially great way to try the cuisine - all delicious! After a few HH apps, we scaled back our ambitions and shared paella and desserts - left feeling very stuffed, happily so. Sangria and cocktails nice too. Very pretty; very nice staff. Definitely will return and recommend : )“

“This is a neighborhood restaurant on Georgia Avenue, suitable for family and friend mesls, lunch or dinner. The menu is excellent and the plate presentations are beautiful. Big screen TV's are strategically placed in all directions, should you be a sports afficiando. In the evening the second floor becomes place latinx music. There is a bar and restrooms. The basement sports billards, food and music. The service is warm and friendly. It is not yet total ADA disability friendly to wheelchairs. The new ownership indicates possibly to make those improvements in the future. Until then, carryout is still very good.“

“Xiquet by Danny Lledo has worked very hard to earn its Michelin standing, and it shows in every aspect of the meal. Each dish is carefully crafted to give you an equally beautiful and delicious sample of a different Spanish cuisine.

First, the presentation of each dish. You receive a cardstock card with every single entree, giving you an overview of the dish, the primary ingredients, a backstory for why it matters to the chef. It is an awesome way to enhance the dining experience and give each small element stand out even more. There is also a sentimental element with some of the them, making it feel like an invitation into the upbringing of the genius who put all the food together.

To make the whole process even more engaging, each of the plates is so meticulously crafted that they feel like art. I sat and admired most of the dishes that crossed my path just to appreciate how intricately they were put together and repurposed otherwise simple ingredients. It’s truly entertaining to see new variations on dishes you think you know, and with such beauty.

Things are made all the more enjoyable by the constant clash between a traditional tapa and the inventive nature of the chef, giving you a blend of new flavors and the classic taste you expect from Spanish cuisine. Each dish just puts a smile on your face and makes you appreciate the finer flavors in life. It’s clear that all the ingredients are top of the line im quality, and carefully curated.

Finally, the service and actual dining experience. The upper area is in a beautiful room with a great view on a glass encased kitchen. It is very welcoming and super entertaining to see the chefs hard at work in the kitchen to see how everything comes together. The service was fantastic as well, with super knowledgable and friendly wait staff. I really appreciated how much they were just as excited for their customers to enjoy the meals as I was.

Overall, Xiquet is an incredible dining experience that is well deserving of its designation. I would save this one for a special occasion, as it definitely hurts the bank, but you will surely have an unforgettable dinner. Thanks to Danny for an awesome night.“
