“All of the tapas and wine were amazing. The paella was mid. Service was decent. However the restaurant has a big white box that looks awful sitting directly behind our table. A coat of paint and a mirror or some pictures would definitely make this better. It's shouldn't be a second thought.“

“It was my first time time here and I loved it! Everything was delicious. I came during restaurant week and had the eggplant hummus and rice cake dishes. Everything was great but I loved those 2 dishes the most. Highly recommend checking out this place for date night.“

“Don’t let Atxondo’s modest looks deceive you. I was skeptical but some friends wanted to try this place so I went along. I was very pleasantly surprised. We ate vegetarian and everything was excellent. I can recommend the brussel sprouts, tortilla española, crispy potatoes, coliflor, golden beets, fried shishitos, and risotto. I almost forgot to mention the interesting drink menu and the best flan I’ve ever had. Service was great too. Go with a group so you can try everything!“

“Delicious food, attentive staff and great atmosphere, enough said!
Vegetarian options: Limited options for you folks. Spanish/Latin cuisine is heavy on the animal proteins.
Parking: Conveniently located across the street from the county public parking garage. There are free hours but don't start until late at night.“

“Here's my honest review:
✨Location✨ I think that it's a great walkable location from the Metro. I like that it's on the second floor with nice outdoor seating.
✨Price✨ I think it's a great price if you have a bunch of friends and you go together. Always a huge fan of Tapas and sharing family style especially for happy hour.
✨Ambiance✨ I love that the restaurant has a Spanish vibe. I love that you can see the charcuterie and drinks in the middle of the restaurant in the bar area.
✨Drinks✨ The drinks were absolutely amazing and quite strong. Got the aperol spritz and wine and cocktails.
✨Recommendation✨ I would definitely recommend going here for happy hour and probably skip dinner here.
✨Food✨ The food is always well done tapas and delicious.“

“I wanted to like Spanish Diner since I'm a huge fan of Jaleo and of Jose Andres, but the food was so lacking in finesse and taste, even for a diner. Patatas bravas was drowning in tomato sauce (I could barely taste the potato or aoli) and the bacalao over eggplant and tomato sauce had little flavor. The ham and cheese was tasty, but nothing to say "Spain" about it...mediocre food accompanied by a hefty price tag will keep me from going back. I'm so sad that Jose Andres missed the mark on this one, unfortunately.“

“We celebrated our 12th year wedding anniversary here, and it was the most amazing dinner. The atmosphere, the attention to detail, and the diligence of the staff (especially Michael and Devon). We laughed all night long. We also had the honor of meeting the humble Chef Danny Lledó, who curated the AMAZING 10-course meal and wine pairing. Can we talk about how delicious the food is? The BEST ever. We ended the evening with Paulina in the mezzanine. Perfect finish. We cannot thank the chef and staff enough. We will not forget this experience. We can’t wait to come back.“

“Favorite Salvadorean cuisine. My favorite meal is the "yuca con chicharrón," which is fried yucca root and pork crackling (rinds). This also includes shredded cabbage in the center as a side. I recommend reheating in an oven for better taste and texture. My second favorite meal is the chicken sandwich, which includes fries. It's about 8", has some lettuce and mayo in it. Pretty tasty. Same as above for reheating. My favorite sides are red beans or "pupusa revuelta." Pupusas are probably a transliteration of "pupus" or "pu-pu platters," which are similar to "tapas." These are bite-sized entrees or platters, but in this case, it is a fried, corn meal, pancake-like item similar to a 'tamal' in that it is corn-based, but it is flat and round and filled with either cheese, beans, or a combination of both (revuelta).Lastly, no meal comes with a drink included, but you can choose soft drinks, water, beer, coconut water, "horchata" or "jugo de marañón" (cashew juice). Horchata is the name of several kinds of beverages, made of ground almonds, sesame seeds, rice, barley, tigernuts, or melon seeds (in this case, it's a powdered mix). Jugo de marañon is cashew juice, a light sweet juice somewhat similar to guava juice and almond milk combined.Prices are very, very reasonable as is the quality of food. However, I cannot guarantee the best customer service. This does not deter my 5-star rating because I enjoy the food, not the people.Lastly, there is music videos or live fútbol (soccer) usually playing on about 3-4 TVs. There is a restroom for men and women, bit the women's restroom requires a key, which you obtain from the counter up front. They also sell pastries of central American style.“
