“Stopped on an early Sunday afternoon in November. Both my wife an I ordered the Po'Boy with fried oysters. She had the homemade fresh fries and I paid a dollar extra for the "side salad". Both f us enjoyed the sandwiches that were made with fresh bread and 5 delicious oysters. She enjoyed the fries and I was overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of the sala. My only complaint is that her Coke was $4.50. But then we were in something that resembled a bar. We would both come again when we are in the area,”

“This restaurant has the most beautiful views in a very fresh and quaint setting. The menu is unique and exquisite. The food is flavorful, presented beautifully, and the portions are very consistent with the pricing. Servers are extremely attentive and we absolutely LOVED the ability to make a reservation. The manager Steven is classy and incredibly hospitable. You can tell he takes his job seriously. Riverwalk is top tier. I can’t wait to go back.”

“I love the food here, so I decided to go for my birthday. The service was horrible. Our waiter brought out cups and silverware but no water. Then he seemed to have a bit of an attitude when we asked another waiter for our water. He had no people skills whatsoever.
After we ordered, we were forgotten about. No one came back to our table until we were done and that was after my husband waved someone down. They should at least ask if we're doing okay.
I've never had an issue with the service in the past, but this was also my first time going in the evening.
Not everyone is meant to work in the service industry and some of the wait staff at choice should seek employment elsewhere. None of them showed any evidence of good customer service.”

“Once again, Jamie, Allison and everyone in the bar are the best. They treated us like family along with our daughter and son-in-law who went later in the day. Drinks are excellent. Daily specials are fantastic. Staples like the Thai Poppin Shrimp and Sesame Encrusted Tuna appetizers and entrees like their Bistro Steak, Shrimp & Griis or Virginia Style Jambalaya are incredible. Second Street easily offers the best dining experience in Williamsburg. You have to try it!”

“We've been to Amber Ox many times since they opened and never had a bad experience. I was especially impressed tonight (6/13/25) however when we went to dinner with my mother. We were initially seated at a high top table and the hostess took notice of the fact that it was difficult and uncomfortable for my mom to navigate. She took it upon herself to move us to a regular table (#17). Additionally, our server Hailey D. was incredibly sweet and attentive and of course, the food and drinks were impeccable as always. Thank you again for a wonderful dining experience and props to Hailey and the Head Hostess who went above and beyond. Your efforts were much appreciated!”

“My husband and I join another couple from time to time to try new restaurants, as we all consider ourselves "foodies". They had gone to Circa recently, and were excited for us to try it as well. I had heard of Circa because I'd been given a gift card a couple years ago, but I lost it, and only had the envelope and gift card receipt. From the time we walked in to the time we walked out, my husband and I received nothing but the best service. Our waiter, Regina, was exceptional - professional, personable and attentive. She sold my husband on Friday night's entire special. I had the mushroom and leek soup, brisket wontons and bison meatloaf. I'm not ashamed to say I did not come up for air. I ate it all! The pairings, textures, layers of flavor and portion sizes were everything. And to top it all off, I told Regina about my gift card mishap, and the manager honored the card! I was blown away by this dining experience; it was awesome.”

The menu offered a wide variety and the food was amazing, the servings were large and the atmosphere was very comfortable. After dinner, Anya stopped by the table to ensure that we enjoyed our meal.
