Tried Pimenta for the first time yesterday. Well, we tried to try it anyway. It was 79 degrees inside, there appeared to be a small group in the back but other than that we were the only people in the place. We’re told to view the menu and order/pay through the QR code. Fine. Then were told only beer and wine was available because the only employee besides the cook was 18. Again, fine. Place our orders only notice the light was suddenly off in the kitchen. Ate here today for the first time. I had the jerk chicken with fried plantains and cabbage. My wife had the curry chicken. I fully intended to save 1/2 of mine for later, but there was no way! I ate every single bite! Absolutely fantastic food! Like my grandma used to say: food so good, if you put it on top of your head, your tongue would slap your brains out. Man, that is some good food!
I would give negative stars if I could. This is such a disappointment because the first time I went there I had a terrible service experience and management resolved the issue, albeit with a lot of back and forth conversation, which I took as a learning experience. Fine. The second time I went, I had ANOTHER horrible experience: my card was overcharged by 20% (lack of employee training) AND the food was utterly disgusting. The ambiance and background music make it feel like home away from home. It is a nice location with plenty of seating and the people that run the place are very nice.
