Tapa Rio Reviews
I wanted to really like this place. The tapas were ok, not overly impressed though. The shrimp was flavorful but overcooked and salty. The Pizza was undercooked in middle.
The Paella... probably the biggest let down. Why oh why is there Chimichurri sauce on a Paella De Marisco? (and doused in it) the paella itself tasted great if you ate around the horrid sauce. The seafood was very overcooked as well. Scallops were rubbery, muscles gummy , shrimp overcooked again. ...read full review

Tapa Rio offers a delightful dining experience with fantastic service and delicious food. The restaurant is adorned with hand-painted art, creating a welcoming atmosphere that guests love. Many visitors highly recommend the Lime margaritas and shareable dishes like Cavolfiore and croquettes. The Burrata pizzaiolo and Elote pizzaiolo pizzas are outstanding, exceeding expectations with their amazing flavors. The outdoor seating overlooking the Rappahannock river adds to the charm, making it perfect for enjoying tapas dishes and sangria. Guests can try the Carne pizza, charcuterie board, and sugar donuts, which are must-try items on the menu. The fire roasted ribeye with a mushroom cream sauce, topped with a fried egg and chimichurri sauce, is also a highlight, along with the incredible paella that has impressed many diners. The wine selections are superb, and while the staff are generally attentive and friendly, there have been occasional experiences noted regarding service.
