“The first on our mission to complete the Richmond Beer Trail - and it was a goodie! The Triple Berry Sour packed a good punch and my partner loved her Rose Lager. Tables were ginormous - so we shared with someone and still had plenty of room to lay out a board game we brought with us. Honestly, this is a great spot to just hangout + drink - we didn't try the food, but looks like you can order from a little automated kiosk in the back to make it easy! Plenty of indoor seating with an accessible ramp and a few tables on the patio if the weather was better. Appreciated the bartenders recommendations on what to try as a first-timer. Overall great experience and one you must try if doing the trail! (Or just generally perusing the Scott's Addition brewery scene of course :))“
“Ah, Basic City Beer! Let me tell ya, sonny, that place is like a time machine. You step in, and suddenly you're whisked away to the good ol' days when folks wore suspenders and bowler hats, and the air smelled of pipe tobacco and adventure.Now, Reilly and Tyler, those two young whippersnappers, they joined me for a tipple at Basic City Beer. We each had two beers, and let me tell ya, those brews were smoother than a buttered biscuit on a Sunday mornin'. Reilly had a stout that was so dark, it looked like it'd been brewed in the depths of Hades. Tyler, bless his heart, went for a hoppy IPA that made his mustache twitch with delight.The place itself? Well, it's got that old wear house feel, like it's been around since the dinosaurs roamed the Earth. The wooden beams creak, and the walls whisper secrets of bygone days. And there she was, the lovely lady behind the bar, with eyes as bright as a harvest moon. She poured our beers with a grace that'd make a swan jealous, and she even let us sample 'em before we committed to a full pint. Ain't that hospitality for ya?Now, we didn't eat a lick while we were there. No sir, we were too busy exploring the back room. And let me tell ya, that back room is a treasure trove. Ping pong tables as far as the eye can see! Reilly and Tyler, they fancied themselves ping pong champions, but truth be told, they played like a couple of drunken squirrels tryin' to dance a jig. Balls were flyin', paddles were flailin', and laughter echoed off the walls like a chorus of tipsy angels.And don't get me started on the amenities! Two bathrooms, sonny! Not one, but two! You could take your pick: the one with the floral wallpaper that smells like grandma's potpourri, or the other one with the flickering light bulb that gives you a sense of impending adventure. And that shuffleboard table—oh, it's a thing of beauty. We slid those pucks like seasoned sea captains navigating treacherous waters.But the pièce de résistance? The bean bag game! You know the one, where you toss those little bags into a hole like you're flingin' corn at a barn door. Reilly and Tyler, they were fierce competitors. Faces red, brows furrowed, they chucked those bean bags with the determination of men who'd lost their spectacles in a haystack. And when one finally landed in the hole, they hooted and hollered like they'd won the lottery.And the beer, my friend? Oh, it flowed like a mountain stream after a spring rain. Smooth, crisp, and as refreshing as a dip in the swimming hole. I tell ya, I'd come back to Basic City Beer faster than a jackrabbit on a hot skillet. So, if you find yourself wanderin' those creaky floors, raise a glass to Reilly, Tyler, and that lovely lady behind the bar. And remember, sonny, life's too short to drink bad beer—so make it a Basic City brew, and you'll be grinnin' like a possum in a peach orchard! ?“
“Final Gravity has a fun a friendly atmosphere with a great staff and better beer. This should be your weekly go to spot! FG has space to house a large crowd and not be overwhelmed, and dog-friendly. “I'm usually not a big fan of kombucha. The taste can have a bite that's often not pleasurable however here at Ninja Kombucha they got it spot on.The customer service I was exceptional with offering that didn't come off as a sale pitch.I really enjoyed these kombuchas and when I returned 3 weeks later purchased more.“

It’s the perfect place to enjoy a drink with friends and family and they frequently host events, such as Blues Rock night and local food truck vendors. They’ve built up a solid community. “Great atmosphere and very friendly and helpful bar/ wait staff. We went for trivia night (Wednesday), which was fun! The beer was solid and so was the burger. The food was heavier and less snacky than I expected, but they had great options. I really liked the Pilsner on draft.“
“Ardent is my favorite brewery in Virginia. I love Pilsners and lagers and Ardent brews some of the best. I feel like most breweries concentrate on IPAs but Ardent provides a nice mix of all, so all types of beer drinkers should be satisfied. It's a great space to hangout whether you are inside or outside, there's plenty of seating options. All the staff is friendly and attentive, it must be a great working environment as a lot of the staff have been there for many years. There's plenty of food options as well as Ardent has a nice menu of sandwiches, salads and appetizers. Also within the same parking lot you have Eazzy Burger and ZZQ BBQ which are top notch! You can pickup beer to go and they also provide delivery options as well.Visit the Barrel Room around the corner for some of their beers while watching comedy or singing along with karaoke night.Fun, food and great beers. What more can you ask for?“

Among the many breweries in the City of Richmond, Richbrau is definitely my favorite! The atmosphere of the street it is on, and the interior give major industrial vibes, and I quite like that! So, if you're in the RVA area, be sure to stop in to Richbrau for a Pint!!!!“

“Blue Bee is back and better than ever in their new spot on Bethlehelm Rd by Libbie Mill.I am so happy for the new owners Mackenzie and Taylor and love what they have done with the space! You must check them out!The tasting room is so cozy with plenty of bar seating and comfy couches.The cider menu has all the old favorites with a new spin of a "song pairing" and I am anxiously awaiting new flavors once harvest happens and Taylor starts experimenting with new vintages!They have a snack menu too- chips, hmnad, charturie boards, and plan on rotating food trucks.They have nice outdoor seating on a spacious deck and a parking lot too ( approximately 30 spots beteeen their private lot and adjacent busineses)My rating rationale+1 Service+1 Food~Taste/flavor/quality+1 Presentation+1 Atmosphere/vibe+1 Value“

“I came here with my friend I'm visiting to get some beers and food. I had the fried cod sandwich from the food selection that was provided and it was so good! One of the best sammies I've had honestly. I'm giving the good review bc of that sandwich but the bartenders were acting like they didn't want to be there so I didn't feel very welcomed.“
“We cannot say enough wonderful things about Antonio and his team at Strangeways. After being unexpectedly ghosted by another venue, we had to quickly shift our wedding reception to Strangeways. They made the transition seamless from the start. Antonio was constantly in touch, keeping us updated and even offering a backup plan to host our ceremony onsite in case of rain. The event room was stunning, and the entire team was a pleasure to work with. We are thrilled with how everything turned out and deeply appreciate the effort Strangeways put in to make our day special. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved!“

“This is my hometown local brewery. Small, but located directly on the train tracks running through town. You can sit mere feet away and watch lots of passenger and freight trains roll by. The beers are always inventive and tasty, and it functions sort of like a test lab for the larger Center of the Universe brewery down the highway. The staff is always friendly and the clientele is always good.“
“Four years had elapsed in a flash before my most recent visit last weekend for the Scott's Addition Collaboration Crawl. My friend mentioned wanting to check them out, and I was happy to go along for the ride. I arrived first and perused their list. I tried two different samples, one of their lavender meads and their Bramble Bee blackberry mead. Both were well done, but Bramble Bee won out for me. Mead is so high in alcohol that 4 ounces is plenty. Expect to pay around $10, which I think is reasonable. Service was perfunctory and there were ample seats. I also loved the daffodils; my favorite flower! Nice touch. I'm sure I'll be back at some point in the next four years.“
“Great cider. I was surprised to see Bryant’s has a location other than the one of Nelson 151. I was thrilled they created some semi-sweet options and beers. The bartender was wonderful. My only suggestion would be improve the signage - we were looking for them and almost missed it.“

“Hello it's me. Beer & service review ONLY. Let me further say in support ... one cannot fairly say - oh 4 stars for a location that is situated in the middle of a random parking lot in comparison to one that's on "huge tracts of land" (who got that Monty python reference ) with amazing views, and try to do a side-by-side comparison? I judge it on its own merits bc it is where it is and that's that so it would be unfair to expect the impossible.. Onward: I came for two reasons. Returning from a distant location and it was on my travel path. As well, I was aware they had some reduced gluten offerings so this was a bonus in the beer world. The location is literally next to an automotive store. Wee bit challenging to locate. However, once you get in there, it's a nice space with bar seating and tables. There are board games for those who want to play, the service was attentive, and bartender is ready to explain what they have on tap. Unlike some of the offerings in Richmond, proper, it's not super heavy on the IPAs and, (perhaps an unpopular opinion on my part) not everybody wants every draft to be an IPA. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find a more varied beer selection. My only negative comment is going to make me sound like a grouch, but it can get loud (very) when folks bring little kids bc it's small. My overall opinion is that in this kinda beer "desert" this is a nice spot!“
