“I recently celebrated my birthday at The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards, and it was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I reached out to Susan, their coordinator, I knew we were in great hands. She was incredibly responsive, professional, and accommodating—especially considering we had a large group.

The vineyard itself was beautiful and welcoming. We had such a great time enjoying the delicious wines—each one we tried was truly tasty and well-crafted. The charcuterie baskets were a hit too: generous portions, beautifully arranged, and full of flavor.

To top it all off, there was live music by Chris, which created the perfect atmosphere for a fun and relaxed afternoon. The entire team was so warm and friendly, and they made the experience feel special from start to finish.

My friends and I are already talking about coming back again soon. Highly recommend The Barns at Hamilton Station for any special occasion—or just a great day out!“

“We stayed two nights at the Red Fox Inn while celebrating our 46th Wedding Anniversary. The Orange County room in the original historic building was cozy, spacious and well-appointed. The bed was really comfortable and the sitting room was perfect for sipping champagne and wine at night or enjoying the box breakfast and coffee in the morning. We were not disappointed with our room selection for our stay in Middleburg. Our stay was wonderful and a memorable experience. The tavern bar is also small and cozy but does not open until 4:30 PM. Only one disappointment was that The Tavern Inn no longer offers lunch and their dinners are limited to a rather pricey $125 per person 4-course meal offering since the ala carte menu was discontinued a while back. Without the ability to choose from a wider and more reasonably priced menu selection, we chose to eat elsewhere in Middleburg during our stay.“

“I build furniture and cabinetry, and the last few weeks we installed cabinetry near Round Hill, Virginia. We tried a few places in the area for lunch, and then visited this place for a sandwich. The food was so good, we abandoned all the other spots and ate here for the next five days. My only issue, as it was cold outside, is that there is no place to eat inside these days. Perhaps bring a few tables back for this purpose. Favorite sandwich: turkey, havarti, pickles, on sourdough bread.“

“Looking for a place to enjoy a beer on a nice fall day, we stopped by Black Hoof. The first thing I noticed was Pilsner and Krolch and not a bunch of flavored beer. After a taste test, we got one of each and sat out back at the picnic table. Great service and good beer without hints of flavor that doesn't belong in beer!“

“I went today for a Galentine’s lunch, and it was such a great experience. Parking was easy and accessible, and the restaurant is tucked into the cutest little shopping center. I’d never been there before, so this was my first visit. When we arrived for our 12pm reservation, we were seated right away, even though our full party hadn’t arrived yet. which was really nice. We were able to grab a drink while we waited. The ambience is adorable and quiet, so you can actually hold a conversation. The seating was comfortable, too.
We did the Sunday brunch buffet option and everything was super good definitely good quality food. The only thing I would’ve loved is some sort of crackers with the charcuterie options (unless I missed it) and it’s so minor but honestly, that was my only note. Everything across the board was delicious. Our waiter was also fantastic: super attentive, kept our water refilled, refreshed our drinks, made sure we had everything we needed, and gave good drink recommendations. I had a mimosa and it was really well-proportioned and super tasty.

“I visited Cassanel for the first time in December 2022 it was the last of 4 wineries I visited that day. Long overdue review shame on me. Some friends and myself like going to different wineries every time we have a chance and I honestly been coming back to Cassanel more than any other winery I thought I liked before. Let's begin with the staff, the amazing people who works here always welcome everyone with an amazing smile and warmth atmosphere. Theresa was the first person I meet and she is beyond amazing. Such a beautiful human being. Never been a wine person because always end up with that one wine super dry and strong flavor that I couldn't drink. “Long post ahead, warning! I walked in around 9 pm and the hostess didn't bat an eye at my dining alone, and didn't say anything about it, which I appreciate. I was seated right away with no problems and immediately got a chance to look over the menu. I will admit, it took a little bit longer than expected for my waiter to come over, but as a lone diner I sort of expected that. I looked like I was waiting for someone, I'm sure. The look and feel of the place was very upscale, but they didn't have any problems with me walking in wearing a nerdy t-shirt. I was seated in this cute little booth for 2 with curtains on the side so, if I wanted a more private dinner, I could have it. It was a cute touch! The restaurant also offered patio dining and since it's by the creek, that would have been a downright charming experience were it not the usual Maryland summer. Despite having a bar, the restaurant was respectably quiet and low-key, making it an easy dining experience. I wasn't in the mood for something wild, and this place really hit the nail on the head. My first waiter Kevin, however, was the picture of polite helpfulness. He answered all of my questions, made some wonderful suggestions, and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. I was delighted to find out that this place takes part in DC restaurant week, so I was able to take part in that promotion. Under a suggestion from Kevin, I ordered a glass of their moscato (I wanted something light and sweet), and the wine was so good I brought home a whole bottle. Not really on them, but it does reflect their excellent selection. Dinner itself was delicious. The red pepper soup was refreshing and flavorful, without being too filling. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and was flavored in the perfect way to make the actual flavor of the meat shine. The potatoes were both light and fluffy, but also had the little chunks of potato that I prefer in my mashed. The best part was desert. About halfway through my appetizer, Kevin introduced my other waiter, Maddy, who took over after he went home. She was as much of a delight as he was, and made possibly the best recommendation of the night. Desert was this blackberry tart that I did not have room for but could not put down. Gooey and crumbly all at once, with a warm center that was almost caramel-y even though it was fruit based. Topped with a light cream to balance it all out, it was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking of that tart all day tomorrow. The prices on the menu were a little high, but I wouldn't go so far to say they were unreasonable. If I had wanted a cheaper option, I could have gone to any chain restaurant ever. In the grand scheme of downtown Frederick, with it's many small businesses and one of a kind dining experiences, I think this was reasonable. For reference, a lot of meals were between $20 and $30, but a good steak is almost always $30+. Despite the price, I had an exceptional dining experience, and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale dining, without the upscale requirements.“

“This winery is great if you are looking for a good wine and peaceful place. It’s small but it has a great atmosphere. Their wines are excellent! I love their wine and chocolate praline tasting. We like this place for birthday parties as well as it’s usually not too crowded. Their outdoor is large with many places to sit. The indoor is small with just few tables. But as I mentioned, most of their members typically pick up their wines to go so it’s never an issue to find a spot to sit. The only negative thing I can say is that my kids don’t love going there because it’s not much to do for them, and the parking lot could use a bit of love. But we are members for about 6+ years and we truly like their wines. My family makes wines in Slovakia and I took them there as well and they enjoyed their wines a lot as well!“

I'm happy to report that after reaching out to Moms about the pumpkin pie issue, Diane and Marylin could not have been more gracious. They gave me a replacement pie which was much better and did not have the separation and odd texture. So glad to know that our favorite seasonal pie is still here!!

What have they done to the pumpkin pie??! We look forward to the fall season just for the pumpkin pie at Moms. Made an intentional detour while in the area to pick one up. While I was not impressed with the presentation (it looked overcooked) I bought it anyway. Paid $30!! I was shocked at how expensive they have gotten, but I gladly paid because of we love this pie. However, I was sooo disappointed when I tried it with my family that evening. It did not taste good. There was a weird top layer that had an odd texture and gave it an interesting (not in a good way) taste. While I do not expect perfection, for the price, I do expect it taste great. My family did not even finish their slices and now I have a half not-eaten pie that I will likely have to throw out. Please, please, bring back the old wonderful and delicious pumpkin pie that we have loved for many years!!

This rating reflects my overall experience. The pies here are some of the best I've ever had. Their pumpkin pies are a TREAT in my house during the fall season. Standing in a very, very long on the day before Thanksgiving has become somewhat of a tradition for me. I also love their Pecan pies and their Almond Chess. The only thing that irritates me about this place is that they almost NEVER pick up their phones. When they are ringing people up at the registers with credit cards it blocks up their phone lines. Please, get another connection so customers on the phone can more easily get through! The Leesburg store is teeny tiny and parking can sometimes be a bit of a nightmare. I tend to go off peak hours so that I can easily find a spot.“

“We visited because they were part of the Loudoun Heights Holiday Ornament Trail * stop 5 for us! Saturday they were also hosting The Charles Washington Symphony so they were VERY busy! The Symphony required reservations, which we did not have, though we were lucky to get 2 seats by a barrel table.
Staff at the front counter were friendly. Wines were nice. I liked the way the flight was served!
Tasting room is pretty large and there is a lot of outdoor space as well.
We hope to stop back again
