“I recently celebrated my birthday at The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards, and it was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I reached out to Susan, their coordinator, I knew we were in great hands. She was incredibly responsive, professional, and accommodating—especially considering we had a large group.

The vineyard itself was beautiful and welcoming. We had such a great time enjoying the delicious wines—each one we tried was truly tasty and well-crafted. The charcuterie baskets were a hit too: generous portions, beautifully arranged, and full of flavor.

To top it all off, there was live music by Chris, which created the perfect atmosphere for a fun and relaxed afternoon. The entire team was so warm and friendly, and they made the experience feel special from start to finish.

My friends and I are already talking about coming back again soon. Highly recommend The Barns at Hamilton Station for any special occasion—or just a great day out!“

“My first time here, but this is the best place I’ve eaten in a very, very long time. My family of 4 Adults and four little children all had a great Dinner here. The service was fantastic even though they were down to one Chef, one waitress and one bartender. If this were American Idol, I’d hit the Golden Buzzer. “Oh red fox inn. I really do like this place! I have stayed here many times and a few things they could improve upon, but will focus on one:

- the breakfast! It’s is tasteless. No condiments come with a sandwich that you’d think would be delicious but has no flavor. Fat free yogurt for the parfait. Before covid, they would do breakfast for guests for free in a nice sit down fashion. Can we bring that back? Or, if not, re-do breakfast program with new items. My wife and I finally made it to MELT in Leesburg after hearing great things, and let me just say… shame on us for waiting so long. Debbie, the owner (and now part-time head-bopper), greeted us like we were long-lost cousins showing up late to the family BBQ. When I told her it was our first visit, she gave me a playful bop on the head with our table number and asked, “What took you so long?” Touché, Debbie. Touché. Now onto the burgers… and yes, they deserve their own paragraph. I ordered the A Jazzed Up Swiss Burger — and let me tell you, this was no run-of-the-mill meat puck. We're talking Gruyère so rich it probably pays taxes in Switzerland, Black Forest ham that must’ve taken a first-class flight in, baby bella mushrooms sautéed to perfection, and a tangy smear of whole-grain mustard tying it all together. Every bite said, “Sir, this is not fast food — this is fine dining between buns.” My wife had the Paris Burger — imagine garlic-kissed beef topped with brie so creamy it probably auditioned for a romance film, with balsamic onions adding the drama. Let’s just say she stopped talking mid-bite. That’s how you know it’s good. The vibe? Casual but classy, with staff who treat you like family (the good side of the family, not the ones who borrow your tools and never bring them back). “My husband is a huge fan of this restaurant. The food is top quality, and I booked a rez for 2 for his birthday and mentioned in the OpenTable reservation it was for a birthday. It was a Friday night and crowded, as usual. We were sat in a booth by a hostess stand, which was not ideal and our least favorite place to sit in any restaurant, but their tables may be limited for parties of 2. The appetizer, jumbo lump crab cake, was fantastic! Our entrees came and they were delicious as well. We had an accidental issue with one, and the server was very apologetic and removed it from the bill. She was a delight, and despite the 2 minor disappointments we know we will be back to this restaurant many times in the near future. Their dishes are as consistent in top quality/flavor as our other favorite restaurant in Ashburn: Clyde's of WIllow Creek.“

“I have heard how delicious the Pub food is so I decided to stop by for some takeout. Upon my arrival, I was greeted immediately & placed my order. The food did not disappoint! I ordered a reuben sandwich with fries which arrived within 15 minutes. It was delicious! While I was waiting for my food, I noticed a good sized area for outdoor dining as well as indoor seating. A group of 4 came in behind me & was seated immediately - I overheard their immediate comment that the music was too loud. I could see that having a quiet conversation might be difficult especially as the place gets busier. If you're looking for delicious food & friendly service, I would definitely recommend!“

“I visited Cassanel for the first time in December 2022 it was the last of 4 wineries I visited that day. Long overdue review shame on me. Some friends and myself like going to different wineries every time we have a chance and I honestly been coming back to Cassanel more than any other winery I thought I liked before. Let's begin with the staff, the amazing people who works here always welcome everyone with an amazing smile and warmth atmosphere. Theresa was the first person I meet and she is beyond amazing. Such a beautiful human being. Never been a wine person because always end up with that one wine super dry and strong flavor that I couldn't drink. The have not one wine that I can say I didn't like....but do have my favorites José Rosé and Dolce 😍😍 Yesterday (June 26, 2023) had the opportunity to meet Mr. José who's been with them for over 12 years and takes amazing care of the grapes, then got to meet Mr. Nelson (the owner) he is a wonderfu man and full fo good vibes. We had a wonderful conversation full laugh and now I understand why this winery is so amazing. 100% recommend, wines are delicious and affordable.“

It's (October November), Peach season and the locally famous Virginia & West Virginia Peaches are used to achieve the best Peach pies (if the have not already sold out).“

I'm happy to report that after reaching out to Moms about the pumpkin pie issue, Diane and Marylin could not have been more gracious. They gave me a replacement pie which was much better and did not have the separation and odd texture. So glad to know that our favorite seasonal pie is still here!!

What have they done to the pumpkin pie??! We look forward to the fall season just for the pumpkin pie at Moms. Made an intentional detour while in the area to pick one up. While I was not impressed with the presentation (it looked overcooked) I bought it anyway. Paid $30!! I was shocked at how expensive they have gotten, but I gladly paid because of we love this pie. However, I was sooo disappointed when I tried it with my family that evening. It did not taste good. There was a weird top layer that had an odd texture and gave it an interesting (not in a good way) taste. While I do not expect perfection, for the price, I do expect it taste great. My family did not even finish their slices and now I have a half not-eaten pie that I will likely have to throw out. Please, please, bring back the old wonderful and delicious pumpkin pie that we have loved for many years!!

This rating reflects my overall experience. The pies here are some of the best I've ever had. Their pumpkin pies are a TREAT in my house during the fall season. Standing in a very, very long on the day before Thanksgiving has become somewhat of a tradition for me. I also love their Pecan pies and their Almond Chess. The only thing that irritates me about this place is that they almost NEVER pick up their phones. When they are ringing people up at the registers with credit cards it blocks up their phone lines. Please, get another connection so customers on the phone can more easily get through! The Leesburg store is teeny tiny and parking can sometimes be a bit of a nightmare. I tend to go off peak hours so that I can easily find a spot.“

“This winery is great if you are looking for a good wine and peaceful place. It’s small but it has a great atmosphere. Their wines are excellent! I love their wine and chocolate praline tasting. We like this place for birthday parties as well as it’s usually not too crowded. Their outdoor is large with many places to sit. The indoor is small with just few tables. But as I mentioned, most of their members typically pick up their wines to go so it’s never an issue to find a spot to sit. The only negative thing I can say is that my kids don’t love going there because it’s not much to do for them, and the parking lot could use a bit of love. But we are members for about 6+ years and we truly like their wines. My family makes wines in Slovakia and I took them there as well and they enjoyed their wines a lot as well!“

“Long post ahead, warning! I walked in around 9 pm and the hostess didn't bat an eye at my dining alone, and didn't say anything about it, which I appreciate. I was seated right away with no problems and immediately got a chance to look over the menu. I will admit, it took a little bit longer than expected for my waiter to come over, but as a lone diner I sort of expected that. I looked like I was waiting for someone, I'm sure. The look and feel of the place was very upscale, but they didn't have any problems with me walking in wearing a nerdy t-shirt. I was seated in this cute little booth for 2 with curtains on the side so, if I wanted a more private dinner, I could have it. It was a cute touch! The restaurant also offered patio dining and since it's by the creek, that would have been a downright charming experience were it not the usual Maryland summer. Despite having a bar, the restaurant was respectably quiet and low-key, making it an easy dining experience. I wasn't in the mood for something wild, and this place really hit the nail on the head. My first waiter Kevin, however, was the picture of polite helpfulness. He answered all of my questions, made some wonderful suggestions, and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. I was delighted to find out that this place takes part in DC restaurant week, so I was able to take part in that promotion. Under a suggestion from Kevin, I ordered a glass of their moscato (I wanted something light and sweet), and the wine was so good I brought home a whole bottle. Not really on them, but it does reflect their excellent selection. Dinner itself was delicious. The red pepper soup was refreshing and flavorful, without being too filling. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and was flavored in the perfect way to make the actual flavor of the meat shine. The potatoes were both light and fluffy, but also had the little chunks of potato that I prefer in my mashed. The best part was desert. About halfway through my appetizer, Kevin introduced my other waiter, Maddy, who took over after he went home. She was as much of a delight as he was, and made possibly the best recommendation of the night. Desert was this blackberry tart that I did not have room for but could not put down. Gooey and crumbly all at once, with a warm center that was almost caramel-y even though it was fruit based. Topped with a light cream to balance it all out, it was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking of that tart all day tomorrow. The prices on the menu were a little high, but I wouldn't go so far to say they were unreasonable. If I had wanted a cheaper option, I could have gone to any chain restaurant ever. In the grand scheme of downtown Frederick, with it's many small businesses and one of a kind dining experiences, I think this was reasonable. For reference, a lot of meals were between $20 and $30, but a good steak is almost always $30+. Despite the price, I had an exceptional dining experience, and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale dining, without the upscale requirements.“

“We visited Two Twisted Posts Winery for the first time and were blown away by how beautiful the property is! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome — especially after being greeted by the sweetest Weimaraner puppy.

Even though it was a busy day, the staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We opted for the white wine tasting flight and also tried a glass of the peach sangria. The oaked Chardonnay was a standout — smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The sangria was cold, refreshing, and just what we needed on a summer day.

We relaxed on the patio, enjoyed some great live music, and soaked in the peaceful atmosphere. This venue has everything — great wine, friendly vibes, and a lovely outdoor space. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!“

“Love this brewery! The beers are always interesting, delicious and they have a ton of options. You cannot beat the atmosphere inside with great tunes, cozy couches, and plenty of bar height tables and stools. Pack a picnic and enjoy the outdoor seating while sampling your favorites or trying something new, like one of the summer slushies. (omg! so good) This is a great spot for a meet up, hang out, or a party bus stop.

It's important to note, their excellent beer is only topped by the quality of people who work here. They share so much information about the beers and you can tell they really care about their customers experience, the beverages they produce, and creating a welcoming space for all beer lovers.

It's a good thing they arent open super late or we would spend a lot more evenings here. The To Go Menu makes it really easy to bring their tasty brews home too!

“Update 4/2/25: Had to drop the rating one star. Recent shows there have not sounded great, not sure what has happened. Very muddled and bass heavy which is not good when they are guitar oriented bands and the guitar is barely audible.
Love this venue! They get a great mix of tribute bands and a decent number of national acts as well. The best thing about the place is the sound system. They have absolutely nailed the sound the majority of the shows I've seen here. The 2024 Living Colour show immediately comes to mind, such a great job on the sound mix! In 20+ shows I've seen here to date only one had bad sound, Geoff Tate. I asked about that one and turns out the band had its own sound people on the boards, so that was on them not the venue.
Parking is a breeze as there is a public garage right behind the theater. Tribute bands generally are in the $15 to $25 range for general admission tickets. Even for national acts I've not yet noticed anything go past $50 per ticket (KK's Priest with Accept was the most I've seen at $49.50). I've been to a sold out show here and they must have good AC as it did not get overly hot inside.
My only quibble is the "pit" area by the stage is slightly sloped, good for sight lines, not so much for standing on.“
