“We came here for lunch while visiting historic downtown Harrisonburg. This is definitely not your run of the mill pizza place and has both an upscale food offering with a super friendly vibe.They offer a great variety of pizza choices as well as a create your own. Each pizza is a 10” personal pizza which could be shared if you aren’t too hungry. They have other options as well besides pizza but we only tried the pizza.I created my own with mozzarella, hand pulled sausage, mushrooms and arugula. My partner had the Brooklyn and our daughter has the cheese (fresh mozzarella). Each pizza was very good and had super fresh ingredients. I really enjoyed mine a lot with the fresh arugula and the well seasoned sausage. The dough was very good and cooked perfectly.The service staff was very friendly and helpful. The layout was vey open and they have different seating options that would fit anyone’s preference. I definitely come back here again when I’m in town!“
“These were the best bagels we have had for a long time. Good selection, toasted and nicely prepared for eat in or takeout. Very nice to find an apparently locally owned location like this. I would recommend Mr J’s Bagels and Deli. We added a beautiful dozen to go.“

( wait until the end, don’t look)My wife & I were driving through Harrisonburg from Maine, thought we’d stop for a quick brunch NY style bagel . . . Glad we did. Close to I-81 , store #2 , on High Street . No frills, just a nice place to enjoy a good cup of coffee, and a couple of bagels.Mr. J’s Bagels was founded by Joey & Dave Jerlinski in 1990. Over the last 20 years they opened up 3 locations. A new owner purchased the bagel business, and recently opened up a 4 th location in Elton, VA .The business seems to be doing well. There’s on-line ordering, catering, featuring breakfast & lunch items at reasonable prices.*The SECRET *Mr. J’s Bagels is owned Angela Dean ??( ssssh , don’t tell anyone?)* Another little fact, usually New York style bagels are “ KETTLED” which is boiled, then baked. Mr. J’s prefers to skip the boiling, just a matter of texture & luster . ?“
“Best experience we've had at any restaurant in a very long time. In spite of it being Friday night dinner rush our party of 6 were seated quickly, service was perfect and the food was delicious. We especially appreciated the attention given to our gluten free guest by the server and the chef. Never had that before. I wish I could say the same about our Olive Garden at home.Dietary restrictions: One member of our family is sensitive to gluten. Not only did they provide a GF menu but the chef came out and conferred with her on choices. Her plate was delivered separately to the table.“
“Honestly, has anyone ever had a truly bad meal at Chick-fil-A? But I am leaving a review because this Chick-fil-A was honestly the best Chick-fil-A I have ever had, and I have had a lot of Chick-fil-A. The chicken sandwich was so juicy and so perfectly cooked, and the french fries were salty and crispy.“
“My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here! We ordered the burrata for an appetizer and my husband had an Old Fashioned. The burrata was delicious and gooey and the cocktail was top notch! For our entrees, I had the salmon sandwich with arugula salad and he had the chicken sandwich with fries. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the salmon filet - it was cooked perfectly and had a wonderful flavor. My husband is a man of few words but said that his meal was delicious :). The perfect ending to our meal was the peanut butter pie!!! Our server was the right mixture of attentiveness and service and being in a repurposed ice house was very cool! We are looking for to our next meal there!“
