“We've ordered takeout from here twice so far- it's delicious and always ready quickly. I usually get very thirsty after eating something with a lot of MSG and don't when we eat from here, and they claim to not use it. It tasted plenty delicious without it and I'm grateful for an option without it. Huge portions and heats up well for leftovers the next day. We will be ordering from here again! My only complaint was not being able to find a menu with updated prices on it online so here it is as of January 2024.”

“I phoned in an order for extra large cheese sticks with bacon. I was told 30-35 minutes and when I got there they were just coming out of the oven, right on time. The person who rang me up was very friendly. The cheese sticks were delicious! We’ll definitely be ordering more in the future. Looking forward to seeing them in their new location.”

“Driving from northern VA to Greensboro, The Pod came up on a coffee search, only minutes off the main highway, in Gretna, I didn't have time to stay, but the menu looks incredible, the space is beautiful and comfortable, sparkling clean, the service was so welcoming and friendly, and my coffee and the house-made pimiento cheese is pure gold. I can't wait to go back with my family.”

“On Saturday March 2nd we just stumbled across Perky’s while traveling from Florida back home to Maine. Because of the name, we stopped. The place was packed. Our only option was up to an 1-1/2 hour wait for a table or sit at the counter. Im happy we stayed and chose the counter. For the next 45 minutes we had a front row seat to Greg and his 20 yr old sidekick along with several other kitchen and wait staff feed us and a sea of other people that were seated. In all their spare time they also filled numerous take-out orders and Greg checked on those of us seated at the counter. If all they had brought us to eat was warm water and stale popcorn the price we paid to witness this well oiled synchronized chaos was well worth it, however we ordered the Salmon and Prime Rib. Both were fantastic ! Everything that came off that grill looked fantastic. In a world where quality, hustle and customer service is pretty much non-existent, we found Perky’s Restaurant a refreshing blast from the past and we intend to go out of our way to eat there again. I would suggest that you make a reservation. Had we walked in 2 minutes later, we wouldn’t have had a place to sit.”

The girl at the counter was very friendly and super sweet and understanding as I ordered ice cream for myself and 3 girls. My whole family enjoyed our ice cream very much. The roast beef, fried chicken, and fried fish were each well seasoned, fully cooked without being overcooked, and a nice treat. The side items were mostly pretty standard for a buffet. The rice pudding was a bit drier than I like and didn't have much for raisins or other additions, though the rice was of a decent texture and flavor was good. Small dining space can get quite loud with all of the open conversations.”
