“What a fabulous place! The food was excellent. I went with a friend and we ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich and the Hot Mama, each having a half of both sandwiches. Both were good but we agreed the Hot Mama was our favorite. I had a white bean and rosemary soup which was the best soup I’ve had in my life. My friend had the loaded potato soup and said it was excellent. The atmosphere is wonderfully quaint and the staff was friendly.”

Interesting metal art pieces and walking paths. This is a great place to visit, especially when you're traveling. Get out, have some ice cream and take a break, take a walk through the woods. “RJ's have been a staple in Galax since I was a child. I was in on the Friday night before Christmas and it was packed. I was dining with my Aunt while I was in town and we didn't have to wait very long for a table. I order the steak stromboli and my Aunt ordered a sub. Her sub was brought out first but it had mayo on it and she sent it back. My stromboli came out and was perfect. Her sub returned just a few mins later and was on point then. I ate about half the stromboli and took the rest home for the next day. The decor is pretty basic, however it's clean and was remodeled several yrs ago after a fire. Overall if you want affordable and consistent food stop in at RJ's. It was loud inside but everyone was enjoying themselves and like any small town everyone was friendly and service was great.”

“This place was on my old sales route up through NC and VA mountains. I would always stop in going up and coming back down through my route every month. The food is very good, but their pies are second to none! I would always put in an order for a couple pies on my way up to pick up and bring home on my way back to NC. If I remember correctly their pies were featured in several VA newspapers too. Definitely give them a try! I’m going to be in the area this weekend and am making sure to stop in for old time sake!”

“A convenient place in Pipers Gap road. They offer most convenience store items and made to order food reasonably priced. This is the only store around this area for quite a while so if you need a drink or some food or the various other things this is your last chance for many miles heading towards Lambsburg MTN.”

“Y’all, I have to brag a little. Ok, it’ll be a lot. But it is very much deserved. I stopped in Fancy Gap today for lunch. If you haven’t tried Pit Stop Pasta and Grill, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? Make the drive down there! It will be worth every mile, every ounce of gas, every minute you’re on the road. I had the best Stromboli I have EVER had! And the employees were so much fun and so friendly! Charity was my waitress, she was super attentive and made sure I had everything I needed (including a full glass of tea) during my entire visit. She even fixed me a tea for the road! Michelle was also working and did the same with her customers. Thank you both for your amazing hospitality! I look forward to seeing you again soon!!! Today was my first trip, but it definitely won’t be my last!”

“While on a road trip with the family, we decided we needed a "sit down" meal.After using the Google, we rolled the dice and took a chance on The Copper Pot.We are so glad we did.The staff was lovely, the atmosphere welcoming despite being busy, and the food satisfied the soul. I brought along 3 kids and they were just as welcome as my wife and I.The catfish was great, and the fried steak was so soft and tender I didn't need a knife.The sides really shined, as the pintos were perfect and the collards you could damn near write home about.The whole experience was so nice, that we made it a point to stop by again on the way back.I think it deserves a mention that in this day and age, I fed a family of 5 here for less then $60 bucks. We didn't go cheap either, we had fun with the menu.If you're in the area, and looking for a sit down meal that leaves you with a smile, then please give this place a try.”

“My husband & I wanted to enjoy our last Valentine’s Day together before welcoming our baby in a few days. We’d never eaten here before or heard of it so figured why not. The prices are amazing compared to a lot of similar places. You’re looking at roughly $10 per person. Food was tasty, I got the steak fajitas & my husband got the Luis Special. My only complaint is the service could be better. They did seem a bit busier than maybe they’re used to being so I’ll give some grace. My husband’s tea was not sweet and the waitress just brought back the same cup with sugar at the bottom of the glass. Lol. Other than that, everything was great & we had a good time. We’ll be returning for sure.”
