“This is my happy place. The wine is good, the people are friendly and the views are exquisite. It’s only an hour 20 from DC but it’s gorgeous and relaxing. Great snacks, down-to-earth owners. Highly recommend.“
“I came to celebrate my birthday with a group of seven friends. We originally had a reservation for six people and I added an additional two, in a seprate online reservation. I called ahead to let them know we were running late. We were told it was okay and they would still be able to accommodate us. When we arrived my party was at two separate tables. One table was for two and the other was for six. I asked the waitress if it was possible to move the two guest to our table of six. She said "no" and I said "okay, I understand." Then the general manger Ken Gray came over yelling at my me and my table of guests. He aggressively told me that they can't do that, however, it was unnecessary because it was already understood and accepted. We enjoyed our $800 tasting until, Ken Gray came back again, aggressively telling us that we needed to get up because the next party was there. I proceeded to get up to go outside and he came back again after I left yelling at my guests. I felt discriminated against and definitely did not feel welcomed at Crimson Lane Vineyards as an African American woman. I was extremely disappointed in Ken Gray's aggressive behavior. It put a damper on my birthday celebration!“
“By far the best wine in Virginia. A serious vineyard for serious wine enthusiasts. Highly recommend!“
“Honey and Hops is my go to spot! I tried their mead for the first time with a friend in 2022 and it’s been our collective favorite ever since. The atmosphere is great and the drinks are even better. My personal favorite is the blue raspberry warhead flavor but I have NEVER been disappointed. I tell everyone who will listen to me that they need to try this place, so if you’re debating then you absolutely should give it a shot!“
“Chester Gap Cellars is a small Winery with a Pub feel. The moment that a patron walks into the door they are treated with warm, welcoming smiles from both the staff and the local regulars. The views overlooking the Rappahannock River Valley are spectacular. The wines are very good too. What makes it great though is the Vinter, Jeff Seese. Jeff has a true joy for the industry and what he is doing. Most days, if he is not behind the bar, he mingles with the guests. One can feel, see and hear his passion as he talks about the winery, grapes, wine production and his small but incredible role in the industry. It is pure pleasure to listen to him. If you ever find yourself out in the Blue Ridge near Front Royal, make sure and stop by and check the place out. You won’t regret it.“
“Tastings of their wonderful meads and their incredible mead slushy. I'm also going to join their Mead club!“
“Children welcomed INSIDE and cherished here!! We loved this winery! There were 8 adults and our 3 month old grandson. We were welcomed and felt at home. The wine is delicious and the food was yummy! They made us feel like family. We even hung out with Beans the cat. Thanks for a fun relaxing afternoon.“
“We had a great time visiting. Really high-quality and slightly unconventional wines. Very friendly people and a beautiful property. Folks who are really into the mainstream of Virginia wines should do themselves a favor and take a very rewarding step off the beaten path with Arterra.“
“To be honest I did visit Cobbler Mountain on a Friday and their website said that you should make a reservation. When I approached the door an employee said to come right in. I was excited because it is off the beaten path and I had no cell service to call.
The Great Harvest Bread Company was onsite for the weekend. They had a delicious veggie sandwich they took the cheese off of to meet my dietary needs. I am happy they were there because I had been hiking and was hungry!
I chose a flight of ciders (all were good so I can't recommend a specific flavor). The wooden holder they served it in was cute, but not practical. Be careful when taking it off the bar because the back of it is open. It will tip over if you're not careful.
I didn't get to see the tasting room because they were preparing for a busy Father's Day weekend. I had to go up in the loft or suffer the heat outside. The loft is not a fun place to be, I might add. It's stuffy and no one else went up there.
Overall it was okay, the service was average (except for the Great Harvest Bread Company). I might go back but it won't be my first choice.“
“my all time favorite vineyard! Everyone is so friendly and professional, and they are so good to me and my kids each time we come. The whole place is beautiful and I will always be a member!“
“Sunday, April 22, 2024, my wife and I were entertained at Delaplane Cellars tasting room by our old friends Keith & Viqui Dill AKA the Dill Pickers. We had a fantastic time listening to some great Bluegrass and Blues selections while enjoying several glasses of exquisite wine. We are hoping that they will book the Dill Pickers in the future and give us more than one day's notice so we can invite several friends to their venue. The staff were very courteous and attentive to our needs. As a disabled Vietnam veteran, I sometimes am not the most graceful so when I accidentally knocked over my glass of wine the staff were there instantly to clean up the mess and replace my wine. Our visit was exhilarating and the views were beautiful.“
“We visited three wineries during our tour, and this one stood out by far for the exceptional quality of its wine. The experience was made even more special by the time we spent with the owner—warm, knowledgeable, and passionate. A truly memorable tasting, and we couldn’t leave without taking a few bottles home to enjoy!“

“Our visit here was great, the outdoor space looking at the mountains is just beautiful. The staff went above and beyond for us after we had a flat tire, immediately coming to our rescue. Go for the wine and vibes and AMAZING staff :)“
