New American Restaurants near Newport News, VA

“My husband and I join another couple from time to time to try new restaurants, as we all consider ourselves "foodies". They had gone to Circa recently, and were excited for us to try it as well. I had heard of Circa because I'd been given a gift card a couple years ago, but I lost it, and only had the envelope and gift card receipt. From the time we walked in to the time we walked out, my husband and I received nothing but the best service. Our waiter, Regina, was exceptional - professional, personable and attentive. She sold my husband on Friday night's entire special. I had the mushroom and leek soup, brisket wontons and bison meatloaf. I'm not ashamed to say I did not come up for air. I ate it all! The pairings, textures, layers of flavor and portion sizes were everything. And to top it all off, I told Regina about my gift card mishap, and the manager honored the card! I was blown away by this dining experience; it was awesome.“

“The cocktails here are incredible. They're not too expensive and have a variety of fun options with interesting presentation. The charcuterie board had some delicious cheeses. The seafood pasta was creamy and the seafood was cooked perfectly, I wouldve liked a bit more flavor..The flour less chocolate cake was fine.

A heads up for special events: we asked if the kitchen could do something for a graduation but nothing was offered (I don't think they regularly do that sort of thing). All in all, terrific service and good food.“

“We used Alpha Pitt Smokers to cater our daughter’s wedding in Yorktown. First of all, Jason was extremely easy to work with. He was so accommodating and stayed in constant communication with me. The food was fantastic, and the servers were amazing! They took care of my daughter and her new husband as well as all of our guests. Their professionalism was top notch. “I came to Baked today on a friend’s recommendation and I am already hooked. I eat a lot of grilled cheese sandwiches and theirs is the BEST! They chop up the bacon and it was cooked perfectly. The staff is very friendly as well. This is not just a pizza place, they have breakfast, sandwiches, ice cream, a big wine bottle selection, full bar, gaming play area and cozy corner. It has it all!! I will be back to work from here and enjoy all they have to offer.“

“Had a great wine tasting experience here today! Brandon, the owner, was so much fun, and you can tell he is passionate about what he does. It was interesting learning about how these wines are made since they are different from your typical winery. Everything was so good that it was hard to pick just a few to purchase at the end. Don’t be hesitant to try them if you are a dry wine fan - I usually drink dry wines because I find most sweet wines too syrupy sweet, but these were delightfully fruit forward and sweet from the infused fruits. You can’t find something like this in the grocery store. I’ll definitely be back to purchase more!“

“I mainly come out here for live music and the weekly open mics. I don’t drink so I have no need to sit at the bar. However, I will say that the server with the black hair is one of the most unpleasant individuals I’ve ever encountered. She’s always working on Thursdays (open mic nights). You would think that I rejected her back in high school or something. I try to get along with everyone but sometimes some people really just suck. Other than that, I love the place.“
