New American Restaurants near Hampton, VA

“My wife and I went there yesterday afternoon after a date day. We had the Loaded Nachos as an appetizer. We then ordered the "Hand Breaded Chicken Tenders" and a "The Classic Burger". The loaded nachos were a huge plate. My wife and I had discussed going to a chain restaurant later in the evening for dinner while we were waiting for our food to come out but immediately changed our minds when we the seen the size of the appetizer. All the food looked good and tasted great also. The only negative thing we thought of the visit was the fact that the sodas we had come in a 12 ounce can and we were charged $2.49. We only drank the one can because we did not feel that we were able get free refills and that expense seemed way too high for one 12 ounce can of soda. We did enjoy the location, the multiple TV's and variety of programs playing on them. This place at 230 in the afternoon felt like a very relaxed place and we will come back again.“

“I came to Baked today on a friend’s recommendation and I am already hooked. I eat a lot of grilled cheese sandwiches and theirs is the BEST! They chop up the bacon and it was cooked perfectly. The staff is very friendly as well. This is not just a pizza place, they have breakfast, sandwiches, ice cream, a big wine bottle selection, full bar, gaming play area and cozy corner. It has it all!! I will be back to work from here and enjoy all they have to offer.“

“I mainly come out here for live music and the weekly open mics. I don’t drink so I have no need to sit at the bar. However, I will say that the server with the black hair is one of the most unpleasant individuals I’ve ever encountered. She’s always working on Thursdays (open mic nights). You would think that I rejected her back in high school or something. I try to get along with everyone but sometimes some people really just suck. Other than that, I love the place.“

“Been trying to get here for ages! Scored 2 seats at the bar and had a thoroughly wonderful time. 4 appetizers later we give it 4 thumbs up! Lovely wine list and our brilliant bartender concocted me a custom cocktail when I confessed an aversion to a specific ingredient.
Was delighted to see so many people greeted by name around us. Had the feel of a locals favorite for sure. Love living in Gloucester but Circa 1918 was a delightful sojourn!
PS we scored a curbside spot out front as a cherry on top.

“My fiancé and I got the Thai shrimp and the pig and fig flatbread pizza, and both were absolutely amazing! One of the best meals out we’ve had in a long time“

“We came here as a group of 6 on a Tuesday evening, and we were seated at their smallest table. When we asked to be moved to a larger (there were 3 open larger tables) we were told that the "wait" was too long. All 3 tables sat empty the entire time we ate. 3 of the 6 people in our party ordered the blackened sword fish at $34/plate. The orders came as grilled and they were severely over cooked. When we mentioned that the orders were wrong, we were told that they could take that fish back add blackened seasoning and re cook the same (already overcooked) fish. We asked to speak to the manager, whose immediate solution was to take off the automatic gratuity and just not tip our server. We never got an apology for the food being wrong, and the manager was completely rude the entire time. The manager's final solution was to take $4 off of a $80 bill. We will not be back.“

“This is one restaurant that never disappoints. Food is delicious and always served at the correct temperature. The staff is exceedingly helpful and accommodating. They have various evenings when there is a special menu, which gives you a variety from the main menu. Their once a month Dinner and Cocktail events are not to be missed. Their support of the World Kitchen during COVID was very impressive and all the more reason to be a regular patron.“

She even wrote Happy Birthday 🎉 on the container. So very sweet. Excellent customer service. I always encounter a great experience whether I’m dining in, calling in, or ordering online. “This was my first time visiting and I was not disappointed!! A group of us got together for an adult skip day of fun at the beach. We starting having fun pulling in the lot..lol The atmosphere was perfect for a beach party without having to deal actual beach traffic. The staff was friendly and on point with every move providing everything promised and then some!! The buffalo sauce was good enough to drink!!🤣 While we are on the subject of drinks, shout to the bartenders for making drinks worth the money!! Last and definitely not least, Cabana Emily B was superb in serving our group the entire time!! We were there from 1 -7 and we saw her so much, it was like she was with us!!! Her and her counterpart did not miss a beat!!! Needless to say the group is already planning a second outing and Emily B will be requested!!! Til next time Paradise Ocean Club!!“

“Ordered a 16 piece (just chicken) in advance and the food was ready for pickup at the requested time and hot. The chicken was tender and tasty, not over breaded or soggy. They are a well-known restaurant in the Hampton Roads area and awarded the best chicken in the area, which shows in the quality they provide. A little bit higher than the local grocery store, but worth the cost.“
