Amazingly quiet for such a comfortable place to eat delicious crabcakes or get the excellent Monday burger deal. Even at 2pm on a Monday I would understand if the place had been overfilling with people but the atmosphere was relaxed and quiet.

First of all the appetizers were phenomenal. We had an order of oysters rock and Kansas City pork rolls. Our drinks consisted of a tequila facelift and Mack’s rum runner. Unfortunately the drinks and apps were the highlight of the meal.
Service was seriously lacking/absent and apparently they don’t have a dress code since one of the staff kept walking around with their backside hanging out. One of the staff apparently thought they were at a karaoke bar.

Mack's Barge offers a lovely riverside dining experience with a large porch and a casual atmosphere, a laid-back seafood shack near Old Dominion University. The menu features a variety of options, including cheese curds, BBQ sandwiches, fish and chips, burgers, crab soup, and amazingly delicious crabcakes or the excellent Monday burger deal. Enjoy affordable and delicious meals with a great view, with easy parking and nice views. Outdoor as well as indoor eating available! Good bar with a good selection!
