“I'm very picky about my sushi and not local so I've been searching for a spot that's good and this place hit the mark! I've tried multiple places in Norfolk and they disguise their mediocre sushi with a bunch of sauces and too much rice on top of being poorly rolled. Here, I got the Yummy roll and salmon avo roll. I got huge ratio of salmon and the rice was perfect. The sushi was also rolled perfectly and didn't fall apart when picking it up. Great service from one of the ladies as well. She saw me using my phone and got me a phone stand. Also got me a cup of ice for my bottled soda without asking. Inside is clean but nothing fancy. Definitely a spot for lunch. They have also expanded their sushi menu it seems.“

Genuinely welcome vibe from the servers and staff.
Premium quality fish (sashimi cuts and hands rolls).
I went with Candy Cane roll, Hot Beach roll and red tuna sashimi. They were outstanding.
Restaurant has a lot of character on the inside and a very attentive staff.
It was a great experience all around.
I will happily return to Daiwa when in town again.“

“We passed this place one day and decided to try it the next. When we arrived we noticed they were only offering curbside. We quickly and easily placed an online order and within minutes it was delivered to our vehicle! The food was fresh and perfectly proportioned. We will definitely be returning! “Ordered their hibachi chicken & steak . It’s not the traditional Japanese Restaurant style of Hibachi but it’s good when you’re on a medium budget . This wasn’t $20.95 for Chicken and Steak like it would at the restaurant. 8.5/10 , yum !“

“Great Food But Quantity kind of sucks.“

“Went here Wednesday around 5 PM after doing some grocery shopping nearby. No customers inside, so was immediately able to order. This was my first time trying iron grill, so I was excited to see what it was all about.

I decided to try the steak and chicken hibachi (8.5/10) I think it was pretty tasty and flavorful, only thing was I felt like the portion of meats could’ve been a little more compared to the large portion of rice and they loaded the vegetable portion with a bunch of onions; whereas, I would’ve liked more zucchini. I also tried the iron grill roll (9/10) I thought it was very good and would get it again.

Didn’t have too long of a wait for the food and you could see while waiting that your order was being freshly made and prepared, so that was a plus. I’ll totally be back again to try more of their rolls and other hibachi combos. They also have teriyaki combos so I would like to see what the difference is regarding flavors.
