I will never come back. I made reservation 5 days prior with a note stating the occasion is birthday and I will be bringing a cake. We came and was told it is health safety violation for outside food. I was told they don't check reservation until the day off and that it is written in their website that outside food is not allowed. The manager told me I should have called and asked. My special request note I thought was my inquiry. Especially I would be charged $25 for each if I cancel 2 days before the reserve date. I expected they would be on top of reservation requests and so on. Clearly they only care about their end but not of the customers. Anyway, I checked their website and I didn't find anything in regards to outside food being a safety violation or any warning of "no outside food allowed ".

Our service was subpar. The food was bland and not on the level I remember it. Not a great experience on a family birthday dinner.

Second time dining here. Loved it the first time. The food we had was very good. The second time my husband’s meal came out with long hair in the potatoes. The waiter immediately took it back to the kitchen. The owner lady came to our table and reported that all cooks had hats on basically saying we were lying. We could see clearly in the kitchen. 4 cooks had on baseball caps and one cook had a bushy beard with nothing over it and hair pull into a short ponytail. We pointed that out and she said his hair was pulled back so he was ok. She offered no apologies and was very unfriendly. She asked if he wanted another meal, and since we were there for dinner he said yes. We were offered no compensation, no free dessert - nothing. My husband again told the owner we weren’t happy about how she handled the situation and still no apology. We won’t be going back.

First time at this new location. Food was delicious. Very well prepared. Only complaint was that the 2-top tables were very close together and were actually difficult to get in and out of without bumping other people or to have a private conversation.

My entree was very good (crab cake, sprouts and grits) but the service was awful. The restaurant was very slow on February 1st and it took almost 10 minutes for our server to bring over a steak knife. And to add insult to the subpar service, they add an 18% gratuity to ALL checks. Needless to say, we did not stay for dessert and decided to go over to Shagbark. Shagbark was packed and yet the service was exceptional!

This was our first and likely final, visit to Acacia. When I say go down the street to Shagbark, I mean it.Even though we had a reservation and promptly arrived for it, we were told upon seating us that the table wasn't ready and they were not sure as to when the guests would get up -- nonetheless we were shoved off to the bar to wait, ok fine. This took much longer than anticipated with zero sense of urgency nor explanation of how to make this evening still work with our time schedule (we had made them very aware of having to leave at a certain time to attend a paid for event - which they said they DEFINITELY could accommodate at time of booking)My partner, in particular, had a series of unfortunate collisions with the food she ordered and no one seemed interested in our satisfaction, especially whom I presume the owner must be, she was walking around the dining room, observing all tables, and chatting with employees, not caring to speak with dissatisfied paying patrons at all! After this disastrous first impression, we finally were seated a whopping 40 minutes later, we ordered drinks -- those were decently made, she got the Basil Smash and I ordered the IPA on tap..fine, nothing to write home about... Basil Smash was gone in 3 sips, seems like they serve it with waaay too much ice. Not worth it$At this point, on to appetizers and what should turn this evening upside down should be the food. WRONG. We were initially going to order the baked oysters but were told by the server that the fried oysters are 'their favorite appetizer on the menu' WRONG AGAIN. They were small, flavorless, and not something anybody should advertise as the best thing to start their dinner with.At this point, we have become a bit frustrated with how things were already going with our one getaway night from the kids and this is when entrees have arrived..we decided to split an assortment of options to get a good bit of variety. Known for their crabcakes but not sure as to why, the lobster roll was a HUGE let down, curry was nowhere to be found in flavor and the beet and goat cheese salad, the portion size was great for sharing options but overall was underwhelming.I was really hoping for some person of management, or owner to stop by the table for an apology or discussion as we conveyed our disappointment to server and no we are not looking for a handout, but wanted to let them know our experience was far from a pleasant oneAdding insult to injury, there is a gratuity that is automatically applied to your bill which translates to the 'i don't care' attitude vibe of the entire place we receivedSadly, but not really sad, we will not recommend, revisit, or retry Acacia in the future.

This was our second experience at Acacia. Our first was much better, which is why we returned. This time, we were seated at a tiny table next to a bookcase, with zero arm room and extremely close to the table next to us. My friend hit her elbow 3 times on the bookcase in the first 5 minutes we were there. Given that this is supposed to be an upscale restaurant, there shouldn't be a bad table in the place. We asked if we could be moved anywhere else, but were told "no" by the owner, with no apologies. The first drink we ordered was extremely bitter even though there was nothing in the description that would indicate why. We were never asked how we liked our drinks, so we just did our best to drink them so we could order something better. The red pepper soup was okay, nothing special. My friend enjoyed her fried green tomatoes. But, my Caesar salad was not very good. I wish they had mentioned that the dressing had anchovies in it. It was terrible, so I just had to eat a dry salad since the waiter didn't come around much and it was impossible to get his attention. I was also a bit put off by the fact that I had to pay $8 for bread which I felt should have come with the soup or the salad, at least a piece would have been appropriate, especially since there were no croutons on the salad (which is typically part of a Caesar salad). We ordered a second drink hoping to get something better than the first. It came with overflowing ice (a good way to make the drink volume less). There was so much ice that we both had to remove the extra ice with our fingers and put it on a plate in order to drink it without the ice falling out. My friend's fingers were wet from having to handle the ice, so when she picked up her drink to take the first sip, it slipped out of her hand and spilled all over the table. When the waiter finally came around, she told him what happened. He never offered an apology or to get her a replacement and came back with napkins that he handed to us to clean up the drink. Seems like that should have been his job. Regardless, when we got our check, there was already an 18% tip included, so it's no mystery why the service wasn't that great. I don't foresee us returning again.
