“A very comfortable winery tucked away from route 211 near Sperryville. The wines are uniformly good and the view, while not as breathtaking as others in the area, is nice. They still offer counter tastings. I was there one early afternoon when the owner was entertaining some locals (or maybe wine club members) so the staff was a bit distracted, but they were friendly. I've been going to Gadino Cellars since 2006 or so and the experiences have been consistently nice.“

“Revisited Jimm and his place and it is so refreshing that Sharp Rock is just as friendly, cozy, and generous (very good prices for the wine) as it was when I first visited, way back in 2001. Some Virginia wine fans who prefer a slicker, more corporate type of winery like Blue Valley or Barboursville may not appreciate the location. But this is the way Virginia wineries should be - off the beaten trail, a beautiful setting, counter tastings, and good prices. I can't imagine a better way to spend a warm afternoon. And they're located near Old Rag Mountain. But do your hike before visiting Sharp Rock. You won't want to leave.“
