“Very nice hometown coffee shop! Just moved to the area so we always look for a local coffee shop and this is our favorite! They roast the coffee in house and it is super smooth, no bite! They also carry several Gluten Free baked goods which is a plus for us as well. Didn't realize they had Gluten free items until our 3rd trip in, look closely at the chart on the case or just ask. Super friendly staff, very helpful, all around great place! Cool fact, the building was built in 1787, plaque on front, which makes it one of the oldest downtown! Highly recommend!!“

“We stopped at Alpine Chef on our way north from Georgia to New Jersey, and we are glad we did! Everything was delicious and our waitress Starr was helpful in explaining the menu and making suggestions. The portions were generous and filling and the atmosphere was nice. We would definitely recommend stopping here if you are in town!“

“Had a great meal and some delicious German beer at this cozy restaurant on our first visit to Fredericksburg. The service was excellent and the bartender was friendly. We will definitely be back and highly recommended.“

“We decided to go out for an impromptu date night on Saturday and we landed at Strangeways FXBG. They had a live band on the inside that you could easily hear from the outside seating area. Smashed Life Food Truck was there serving delicious burgers that satisfied our hunger. I loved the smash sauce which did have a little kick.
Environment was great, staff was friendly, and the beer was delicious. I was even able to walk away with two t-shirts for $15.“

“It's a good spot to eat. The food was better than average. The place was loud, and they only had 1 bathroom stall for men. So, waiting 15 minutes to use the bathroom was rough. I would go back again, but only if a few other spots in town had long wait times.“

“Overall a great date night experience. A little slow service due to a wedding party but the food was delicious. They were even able to accomodate our reservations an hour earlier. Tried their eggplant Freitas, octopus salad, halibut meal and soft crabs. Truly delicious. Drinks were also excellent. We will be back.“

“I went for the first time this past weekend. I first They were closing in less than an hour so I was hesitant to walk in but I saw another customer walk in. I’m glad I did. I ordered a latte, it was delicious! I will probably be back again. Piper, was sweet and patient. I didn’t feel rushed, even though I knew they would be closing up soon.

“Peter continues to be a legend and an amazing bartender. During my visit I had the pleasure of chatting with Chelsea as well, and both of them are exceptionally good at maintaining a positive energy and rapport with the patrons at the bar.
I'll continue to be a patron at the Red Dragon after work when I'm able to for the friendly atmosphere and quality beer at a quality price.“

“Everything is delicious!!! The avocado, cheese and tomato sandwich on grilled sourdough bread, with an onion and horseradish jam is outstanding!!! The falafel is to die for! I'm not a vegetarian but everyone in Fredericksburg knows that if you go to Sammy T's you MUST try their vegetarian options, you WILL NOT be disappointed! The avocado and cheese sandwich is the best sandwich I've ever eaten, and I love a good steak and cheese, BLT, Italian sub, chicken sandwich etc, but you can find those options anywhere, but Sammy T's is on a whole different level.... You can actually taste the love in every creation on the menu! The avocado sandwich is just beyond words! You have to try their coleslaw and a basket of fries too. You won't be disappointed! Their cheeseburger is delicious too, but I made the mistake(a happy mistake) long ago and tried the avocado sandwich and now I have to have it every time I dine at Sammy T's. Perfect sweet iced tea as well and the service is outstanding every time!! Before being seated, ask if you can be seated in Coco's section. We've been fortunate quite a few times in the past month and, she has been our server--- she's the best! She truly is! BTW... don't forget to order the grilled cornbread, it's worth every penny and then some! Love this place!
Vegetarian options: Too many to list. The falafel is amazing! The grilled avocado sandwich is the best sandwich ever! The black bean burger is perfection! The gazpacho is delicious! The list goes on and on.

“Love the coffee and ambiance here. However, I no longer patronize them. I ordered a mocha and asked for coconut milk and extra whip. The final bill was more than $3 higher! Small but significant. I was incensed. I told them so and she just shrugged. I don't mind them charging more but do tell us when you do, BEFORE you make and charge me for the drink. I should have just walked out. I greatly dislike these hidden fees that slap you unawares. Maybe it was just that one clerk's fault, maybe it was store policy; I don't know.“

“Absolutely amazing service!! Manager Brad always makes us feel welcome, and at home, and is hilarious. our server sam was also incredibly sweet! Food came incredibly quickly and slapped. Best customer service I've seen in a long time. We go very often and love it everytime, 1000000000/10 so great!! Also love the vibe of the place. So good.“

“We went there a while ago, about two years ago but I thought I’d share. Carl’s offers a delicious custard. Very creamy and sweet. My son did not like his milkshake but me and my daughter loved our ice-cream. I am lactose intolerant, but the custard was definitely worth it. I think you can tell though by the look on her face! Would definitely recommend. They are cash only though!“
