Came by for a late Sunday lunch and I was seated within seconds despite the busy parking lot. Affordable lunch specials (several were <$10), great service, and decent quality food. Serves complimentary salsa, cheese dip with their tortilla chips (wasn't offered more tortilla chips though). Will come back to try their dinner specials.
Ordered: Mexicana Burrito, bunch of tacos, chips and queso, carnitas and chicken quesadilla.Best Americanized Mexican spot I have been to between SC and VA. Everything is good and service is fast. Portions are very generous and the chips and salsa are the best I have had a Mexican spot. Big beers on tap and a bunch of seating. Every time we drive down route one we notice busy El Gran Charro is. My husband and I planned to try this local treasure last Sunday we went in and were able to be seated right away. We looked at the menu and decided to try the Queso Flamado as a starter. Before QF was ready we were delivered chips, salsa and a white sauce that neither of us had had before.
