“We felt welcome from the moment that we walked in the door, through out our entire dining experience up and until the very end. Here is the background. The restaurant closes at 9pm. We came in at 8:37pm. Not on purpose. We simply miscalculated how long it would take us to drive here from Winchester. We walked in the door worried that we would get turned around or at the very least get the “we are closing soon” suggestion, but to our surprise, that never happened. In fact, the complete opposite occurred. We were walked to a nicely set up table, right next to the fireplace. And then, a fire was started on our behalf. The environment was perfect. The place has the aromas of a homely and welcoming log cabin. The scenery is laid out the same. The music was 50’s holiday themed. Like I said, it was perfect. And then came the time to order our food. We were never rushed, even though we were minutes from closing time.I ordered the surf and turf. My wife order snow crabs. I had an ice tea. She had a martini. The food was so good, we had to pray before and after our meal.Another loving touch about this beautiful place is that they kept the fire going while we enjoyed our experience. It’s the small things that make an experience, An Experience To Remember that has to be shared.A wonderful evening.I really hope my experience will help anybody chose to enjoy theirs here, at the Log Cabin.Post Note, our servers name was Debbie. She made our experience a most memorable one. We thank everybody for making us feel at home.“

“We got seafood boil bags to-go, so we didn’t get to dine in. But we plan to for sure. This place is way better than Red Crab in Fredericksburg, by far. The prices are better and the quality of seafood is better. Often I’m disappointed at these kind of restaurants because it always feels overpriced and not worth it, but here I was satisfied. The mussels, crab clusters, crawfish, and shrimp were really good and good in size to where you don’t feel like you’re getting ripped off.“

“Neat and quaint spot at the end of the large plaza. The food was okay, the wontons were mainly wrapper, hardly any meat. Store bought, frozen dumplings, which I had asked for pan fried, but came deep fried, still I ate them, as the sauce they came with was tasty. I was impressed with the portion of Lo Mein & Fried Rice, as these are both Kids Menu portions. However this was the left over oil from the Lo Mein. The Spicy Garlic Pork wasn't spicy, it was more sweet, with a hint of vinegar. The staff was very nice, many of them working together, family environment, although the music could use a bit less profanity...Interesting choice of toilet paper ?Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu, and I did order from it.“

“Every time we drive down route one we notice busy El Gran Charro is. My husband and I planned to try this local treasure last Sunday we went in and were able to be seated right away. We looked at the menu and decided to try the Queso Flamado as a starter. Before QF was ready we were delivered chips, salsa and a white sauce that neither of us had had before. The cheese came and I'll admit, I sort of expected a flame or hot spices or sometime but it looked and tasted like queso Blanco with a minimally scorched side and bottom because it was served in a skillet. The salsa was not great. But the white sauce was something to write home about delicious somehow sweet somehow savory and just spicy enough to give you a kick we loved it. Jeff ordered à la cart three separate types of tacos. He thought they were good. I ordered a shrimp appetizer as my meal with a side of corn tortillas and a little extra white sauce. We were not wowed by our meals but also the food was not bad. My dish unfortunately was so spicy I could not eat it in the restaurant. My husband ate his dish and took a bite of mine. He agreed the spices were abnormally hot and somewhat unexpected. The rest of my dinner was transferred into a to go container draining off the vinegar and spices and it was very good when I ate it later at home with more white sauce . Clearly the white sauce was the star player. The restaurant was well decorated, clean and inviting the host and the seater were welcoming and polite. The cost of our orders was very reasonable. Sadly our particular waiter did not do a great job he wasn't very knowland did not come back to check on us however we did notice great service at other tables and assume that issue to be an individual problem and not an establishment problem. Overall, the value was good and I may give other things on the menu a try if I came in the restaurant in the future. Maybe a nice girls margarita night with tortilla chips and white sauce. No“

“The mussels were the best part, very good. They have a beer wall where you get a card and self serve your beer. They have a good selection of beer. The food was very lack luster. The Bison Burger was over cooked, grey and tasted like a pre-made frozen burger patty. The shrimp wrap was OK the shrimp were also overcooked and were tough. Service was a little slow, but she was very friendly.“
