“Honestly, this is some of the best Persian food I've had in an upscale restaurant. I've had a ton in LA and Dubai. Each dish is thoughtful and incredibly well seasoned. They are true to traditional preparations, with an elegant flare in presentation. The one big minus was the service. The gentleman was kind and knowledgeable, but they forgot an appetizer, and food came out rather slowly. It wasn't too busy either. This rating could easily been a 5 star, with better service.“
“Love this place - it’s one of my favorites in the DMV area! I tried this place for the first time about 4 years ago, loved it, and have been coming here since. Even though I don’t live in the area any more - I make to stop by every time I’m in town.Delicious food - I appreciate that there are many vegetarian sides to choose from. The service is friendly and kind every time. Definitely recommend!“
“Great potential for the falafel platter, with some missteps that keep it from being five stars.First, the good:- sauces were excellent (toum, shut)- dips were great (hummus, labneh, and a chickpea stew)- bread (shrak) was great- fries were great (served with cilantro)- onion/parsley garnish was very good but needed to be more of it- falafel was good- salata was pretty goodHere’s what can be improved:- the Persian style grilled tomato and grilled onion make no sense as a side for a falafel platter… it should either be served with tabbouleh or chopped raw tomatoes and onion, either of which add freshness and cut through the heavy sauces- speaking of tabbouleh, it was supposed to come with some but didn’t- the fries, falafel and chickpea stew were a little too salty- personal preference: I don’t like pickled beets in general very much, I didn’t like these pickled beets in particular very much, and I strongly feel that pickled cucumbers are superior on a falafelThe good parts about the platter were great. But, the actual falafel wrap was a little off, because it lacked fresh veggies. The sauce, the bread will keep me coming back, but I hope the owners take note of this feedbackVegetarian options: Falafel platter seems to be vegetarian friendly“
“Second time visiting Basil in Annandale. Tired of cooking after thanksgiving and wanted some lentil soup and halloumi pizza. Both were excellent! I have made lentil soup many times but Basil's soup has a lemon undertone that was very satisfying. Dough for halloumi was very tender and crust perfectly cooked. Last time I did carry out I ordered lamb shank entree for dinner and that was wonderful too. I hope Basil keeps up their great meals. My new go to place for carry out when my arthritic hands too tired to cook!“
“Definitely a hidden gem little fast/causal spot! My husband and I got the gyro wrap and beef shawarma wrap with fries and they were delicious. Gentleman at the counter was friendly and dedicated to making our food deliciously for our first dinning experience with them. Ordered a side of rice (which is CRAZY GOOD) and he hooked us up. Only thing I would have liked to see was a little salt on the fries but they were fried to perfection“
““I was completely impressed with their professionalism and customer service.” “The ambiance here is always inviting and comfortable.” Fairfax Kabob. the best in town.” “Their staff is not only friendly but also highly skilled.” Their customer services 100/100. chicken Kabob ?“
“I came here for lunch and I must say that I absolutely loved the service and food here.I ordered a chicken wrap, it was warm and the chicken was juicy and tender. The french fries that came together were crispy and omg the sauce that came with it was so yummy, that I had to ask for it twice. Also the blonde girl basak was soo friendly, she kept asking me if i needed anything more and she was very cooperative and because it was my first time trying turkish food she explained the menu very well and also gave me some items to try so I could choose a better option. Overall the staff is so cooperative and helpful as well, the pay attention to all customers equally.Lastly I was treated with turkish coffee as a complement and baklava which is a turkish dessert, which was the best Ive ever had in the whole united states. I cannot wait to visit here again with my friends as well.“
“Amazing food! We randomly walked in to the newly acquired restaurant (used to be another afghan place) and were amazed by the quality and taste of the Afghan food. The decor and so nice and clean. The staff is so friendly and their ice cream is out of this world!!Great prices and huge portions. Highly recommend!“
“The food and service at this place is always awesome. Especially the gentleman who runs the front of the house. His name is Marvin, and he's the nicest guy you could ever meet. If you want good food, pretty quickly, and like people in general, this is a great place to get it. I've become a regular customer and I love this place.“
“Little gem of a carry out - with upgraded tables, I see - the owner and his family are very nice and accommodating - the gyros: always on a freshly made naan and the fries - oh the fries! - are delicious. The spinach and chick peas are also a delight.Parking: Parking lot can get crowded, so go park on the side street“
“My second time here. I live 1.5 hours away but try to eat here when I visit my brother in Reston. Excellent food, generous servings. The bread is so good, fresh with a good chew. Four of us shared 3 platters: chicken, gyro and salmon and still had enough to take home for one more person. Perfectly cooked and flavorful with a side salad, chickpeas ( great for dipping bread into the sauce) brown and white rice. The place is clean, service is friendly.“
“Greatest falafel sandwich in the area! Highly recommend!Went back for a third time and sandwiches. Had this new flavor that I did not love which must have had curry and some kind of sauce in it. Definitely not the original Syrian flavor I was looking for.“
“Darya Kabob is a gem! The food is consistently delicious, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Every visit feels like dining with family. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic flavors and warm hospitality. Probably one of the best Kabob restaurants in DMV.“
“We initially intended on eating at Z-Burger, and were pleasantly surprised to find Maman Joon Persian food inside! We ordered Koobideh, Ash Reshteh, and Gheimeh Bajemjan. Being Persian myself, I'm very selective when it comes to Persian food. I'm happy to say, the food here is absolutely delicious and very authentic. It reminded me of home. The owners are very kind, and I only wish I lived in the state so that I could come often! Will definitely return when I'm in the area again.“
“Solid Kabob place. I love that they give you 2 types of basmati with a kabob platter, and the naan is delicious. The chicken and salmon are my favorites. I always order takeout and have never had any problems with my orders. Thank you Reston Kabob!“
“This unassuming and hole in the wall restaurant is the real deal and what a treat! Had friendly service and deliciously authentic super FRESH food, made to order from scratch. I could see the cook in the kitchen and she ran a very clean and organized kitchen. Think homecooking and you'll be happy with what you get. I enjoyed every bite, and the corn tortillas are as good as it gets. I'm looking forward to eating my leftovers tomorrow! ?“
“We ordered lamb and Chapli Kababs, it was delicious but the quantity of rice is not enough, low quantity.Plus they need to pay attention to quality of salad and protect it from insects in the kitchen, I saw a flying insect over the salad.Muhammad was very nice and cooperative.“
“It was just okay to me. My kids loved it. They liked the chickpeas and bread. I thought the portion size was reasonable. The chicken kabob was probably the best. The beef and lamb were a bit dry. There is no luxury here for dining. You are just eating in a small place with enough space for about 20 people max. It was decently clean. I would eat lunch here again. It’s not a date night though.“
