“Amazing place really. I wasn’t expecting a ski mountain to have such an amazing restaurant! The James Moore tavern is fantastic. I ordered the Smashburger with fries and some unique morsels known as duck rangoons. The burger had a crispy patty that was seasoned perfectly, as well as onion jam, a brioche bun, and garlic aioli. The fries were crisp and flavorful and the duck rangoons were fantastically unique and delicious. Sadly they were out of their butter cake but the peanut butter pie was delicious. Probably the best ski food I’ve ever tried!”

“By far the best creemee’s we’ve had this year. We’ve gone too many times to count because they’re that good! The butterscotch is next level and would maybe highly recommend that everyone give it a try. My only suggestion would be to pass out napkins when giving customers their cones. It feels as though there is a reluctance to hand them out when ice cream can be a messy but necessary evil!”

“What a gem! I spent the whole time riding shotgun on I89 researching the best spots to grab dinner with the family for no reason. I should’ve just followed the advice of the internet food gods and headed straight to Blackback Pub. The food was incredible and the service was memorable. Chef Cory is doing what he loves and it shines through. Just about everything but the ketchup starts out from his bare hands. Try the Crab Rangoon Grilled Cheese….its out of this world but makes all the sense in the world. Enjoy one of the last chances to eat a fun and exciting meal before your trip into the VT mountains.”

We had a delightful first experience with our tasting - Janina’s comprehensive knowledge and presentation of everything from cake composition options to details of physical delivery logistics put us so at ease, and made us so confident that we would be taken care of. And then there’s the cake flavors! She has such a lovely variety of cakes, fillings, and frostings to choose from, that really allowed us to get a little funky with it and create some killer cakes/cupcakes that felt unique to us, and a little more adventurous in flavor than your average wedding desserts. And they came out looking so perfect, cute, and delicious! Honestly, every step of the process with Red Poppy was just so seamless and effortless, and I’d recommend working with them for everyone - from novice cake-purchasers like us to someone who's getting cakes and treats every week.”

“We were visiting from CT in search of a quaint place for breakfast. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the spicy bloody Mary's with their house made jalapeño infused tequila. The breakfast food was fantastic. The bacon was crisp, the homefries spicy and filled with the right amount of flavor, and the corned beef hash was a great Irish Breakfast. Our server was fantastic! She offered us several suggestions on places to see while here such as going to Burlington and seeing the lake views with the mountains. What a great find!”

“One of the best meals we had while visiting VT was at the Reservoir. OMG!! The poutine appetizer was absolutely unbelievable. It was cheesy and bacony goodness. We wanted to lick the plate at the end. My smash burger was one of the best burgers that I’ve ever had. Loved it so much! It was so juicy and delicious. The salad was a good side dish. My husband opted for a plain chicken sandwich instead of the hot chicken. Hot chicken would have had more flavor. My cousin loved his cheesesteak. He said it was one of the best cheesesteaks that he’s ever had. It was super juicy and delectable. My other cousin loved her mahi mahi sandwich. She wanted something different and loved it. Our waiter was very attentive, very personable and gave great food recommendations. He deserves a raise. The Reservoir is a must visit when in Waterbury. Everyone loved the food and the service. Wish it was closer. I’d be there all the time. We’ll be dreaming about it until our next trip.”
