“You can't beat a good ol' ice cream window. Carmen's has easily become a household staple. They have a variety of soft serve, hard icecream, milkshakes, and even vegan options! It is always delicious, and staff is the sweetest. We will definitely be stopping by all the time this summer. I just wish they had more outdoor seating.

“Great menu with something for everyone! From salads to poke bowls to chicken wings and sandwiches, our party enjoyed everything. Although when I asked for the best hazy IPA they had, they brought out Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing. For the record that is NOT the best hazy IPA they had. That’s kinda like asking for their best lager and being handed a Budweiser but whatever it’s an all-around great spot that is great for everyone. Even my dad would like that place and he don’t like nothin”

“We have been twice since they opened this season, both times on Friday evenings. It is freezing cold in there! The heat needs to be turned on much earlier, then maybe you’d have more guests. It makes me think twice about going because it is so cold in there. The food is good, the menu is small but lots of options for every type of appetite and the option to sub a salad/sweet potato fries is fantastic!”

“The Freighthouse is phenomenal. The food is all fresh, and organic, and delicious. They have options for pretty much all diets, and they easily have the best Vegan breakfast options in the NEK. Add in the specialty food store section, the gift section, and the ice cream window and this place is just the best. We've been going there regularly for over 15 years and they just keep improving and improving. This is a must see/stop if you are visiting the NEK. The owner and proprietor is continuously updating, upgrading, and improving the space and the menu and has made customers for life out of our family!”
