“This is maybe my kids’ favorite spot in town. I can always drag them out of the house with promises of a cone and a round of mini golf — and oh hey, there’s a food truck so we have to eat an actual meal first! All the people who work here are so nice, and the scoops are HUGE. Like it’s probably not responsible to give a kid that much ice cream but whatever, they love it.The ice cream itself is nothing to write home about—it’s just Hershey’s, no fancy organic basil-chai-turmeric hand-churned gelato. If you want that there are plenty of other places in the area to find it, this is where you go to get a literal tub of something bright blue and cotton-candy-flavored, covered in sprinkles and precariously perched on a wafer cone, for $3.99. Factor in the food truck and the mini golf and that’s two solid hours of kids not whining or zonked out on screens. Win!”

“A hidden gem in Vermont. This unassuming restaurant was a true delight. The food was absolutely delicious- so inventive and creative without being pretentious. It can rival and beat many of the NYC vegan restaurants that I’ve had. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming especially Nikki. Then have over 50 years of experience and it SHOWS on the plate. Everything was amazing and we would definitely go back just to eat here again!”

“Absolutely love this place—it’s hands down one of our favorite pizza spots in the area. Everything is excellent, no matter what you order. Some of our family favorites include the classic cheese or pepperoni pizza, the chicken and eggplant parmesan grinders, personal cheese pizzas for the kids, and their baklava for dessert.

The staff is incredibly friendly, and you can often see the owners working alongside their team, taking real pride in the quality of their food. From pizza to grinders, pasta, and salads, everything is top-notch. Highly recommend stopping in for some great food!

“I am originally from Brooklyn NY and know good Italian food. Bella Notte was the best Italian food my wife and I have ever eaten. We shared Lasagna and Chicken Sorrento, followed by Tiramisu for dessert. Our waitress Karen was awesome. She was attentive, helpful, efficient and pleasant. It was a delight to be served by her. The restaurant is in the Brattleboro country club with a beautiful view. I would definitely go back.”

Plus the patio is scenic, it's such a quintessential Vermont feel to grab a coffee overlooking the mountain and river. Pastries are delicious.

As I initially warned one of the owners, Adam, I am a food snub from NYC where Asian cuisine and its many fusions are plentiful and good but this definitely rivaled any of the best restaurants in NYC.”

“This was our first time at the Royal Diner and the staff was great! We had a decent meal and it came out of the kitchen at lightening speed. The sweet potato fries could use a little more seasoning.
But, we were disappointed by the menu selection. It felt small for a diner and it was missing a diner classic in my opinion — the Reuben.”
