“Great little cafe with creative sweet or savory scones. My cortado was just how I like it. I don't often see such a nice lever machine for the espresso.There's only a little seating but it doesn't seem to run out. you might rather browse the greenhouse or the farm store. Also u-pick blueberries when in season.I'll definitely stop by when I'm in the area again.”

I adore the handmade paintings displayed around the dining area, and the big wooden beams. One of the coziest little places in town with the ambience of coffee-grinding and small talk. An establishment fit for all ages and humors; a Hanover staple for certain.”

“I am perplexed by some of the poor reviews on TripAdvisor. We dine here frequently and nearly 100% of the time find each dish to be either exquisite or at least very good. The chef is a master at selecting fresh ingredients, combining, seasoning, and cooking to allow the flavor of the ingredients to shine, never overwhelming with the crutches of excessive salt or fats. Often original.”

“Last night we went to Jesses o celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary! I had called for some special accommodations I wanted. They did a fabulous job with our booth (which I requested for privacy and low noise level. It was a perfect booth! I had requested champaign be on the table in ice and chilled glasses. Candles were another request. The table was perfect and beautiful. Very romantic! My Huband's gift was delivered to the restaurant. It was sitting on the shelf behind the table. Perfect! The Managers and staff were excellent! A shout out to Tiffany and Abbey(manager). So very pleasant and accommodating. We have never had such excellent service. We have to many 4/5 star restaurants in our 50 years together (actually 52 if you count our courtship) LOL! So, congratulations on a job well done. Everyone (seemed to know about it) Even other patrons came by our table and congratulated us! e were truly made to feel special. I highly recommend Jesses for celebrations, or just a fabulous meal. They usually have live music in the bar area on the weekend nights. Which is where we usually sit for the comradery. . Always someone interesting to strike up a conversation with, sitting right next to you. Jesses is the place to be!”

“Fantastic fried chicken. Fresh, juicy, well-seasoned, and KRUNCHY! Located in the back of a convenience store, the chicken kiosk is worth the stop. The owners are super nice to boot.

The convenience store is also good and has a selection of wine and beer to wash down that tasty chicken.”

“This past Monday I had an appointment at the hospital due to the store I got there very early. I saw this place and decided to give them a try boy am I glad I did. I don't know how you got those people all there but they were smiling, polite and helpful. I will definitely be back.”

“I cannot say enough about our experience at Carpenter and Main. The food was fantastic, the service was fantastic, the atmosphere is great - relaxing, attentive service but not overly so. The 4 of us enjoyed each others company without feeling rushed or interrupted. It was the feeling of being in someone’s home.

FOOD
We all ordered apps, mains and dessert. We don’t typically order dessert but when we saw it was homemade ice cream we had to try it. It did not disappoint. We all ordered different everything from each other - Bruschetta, Split pea soup (amazing), Artichokes for Apps. Scallops, risotto, duck, glass noodles with edamame and other veg for mains. The food was amazing. And I mean amazing.

Nate our server is a class act and made our overall experience one we want to repeat.

WINE ETC
The wine list was really good but I have to give props to Johnny the bartender. A talented bartender for sure and one of the reasons we’ll be back.

ATMOSPHERE
There are multiple rooms plus a bar area. The rooms are quieter but we wanted something less quiet so we asked to be moved to the bar area. We also wanted to be able to hear each other talk which was not an issue. We could enjoy the music which wasn’t too loud and hear each other comfortably.

“Pine is the restaurant for The Hanover Inn, Dartmouth’s charming hotel located in the heart of downtown Hanover and overlooking The Green. Pine’s location, elegant atmosphere, and service were excellent; the food was just alright. I enjoyed my salmon dinner, but my dad was disappointed by the size of his scallop dinner, given the high price. There are not many options here for kids, either, so beware. Overall, I would recommend this place for an elegant meal out, but be prepared for a high bill and small portions.”

“Doordashed a burrito from here. The original sized is huge, wanted to take a nap afterwards. So many options to add to it. The flavor is bold and right up front. You can instantly tell that it is all fresh and not frozen. Will definitely be ordering again when I get a craving. Highly recommend you check it out.”

“Nice cafe, out of the way for me so was my first time, came to try their bagels. IMHO the best bagels in UV. The Works was heavily seasoned(maybe a tad saltier than I prefer but still very good) and the Jalepeno had a nice residual heat. Will come back! Second trip, Asiago Cheese very nice. All toast to nice crisp outside and good chew in the center.”
