“I had the pleasure of dining here while on a work trip. I sat outside to enjoy the amazing weather but the inside looked very welcoming. Welcomed with a smile from all of the staff. Gary was great at telling me about the dishes and a little Thyme history. Food was delightful, perfectly seasoned and fresh. “If you're in search of authentic Haitian and Jamaican cuisine, The Karibbean is a must-visit spot. I recently had the pleasure of dining there, and it was an experience worth sharing.

I ordered the Goat Curry, which was served with a side of rice and beans and their signature Karibbean slaw. The curry goat was flavorful and tender, truly a standout dish. The Karibbean slaw had a nice mild kick, which I enjoyed, but if you’re someone who isn’t keen on spicy food, I’d recommend letting them know when you order. For those who love a bit of heat, it’s perfect.

For my sides, I had the fried plantains and veggie patties. Both were delicious and well-prepared, complementing the main dish wonderfully. To wash it all down, I opted for mango juice, which was refreshing and sweet, exactly what I needed to balance the spices in the meal.

Dessert was the Haitian brittle, a coconut treat that was just the right amount of sweet to finish off the meal. Unfortunately, I was too full to try it right away and had to save it for later, along with the veggie patties. The portion sizes are generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth.

The ambiance at The Karibbean is warm and inviting, with a vibrant Caribbean feel that makes you want to stay and enjoy the atmosphere. The service was excellent—attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience.

I had the chance to chat with the chef, a wonderful Haitian gentleman, and it was a highlight for me. Anytime I get to speak French, I’m thrilled, and it was a pleasure to hear about his passion for bringing authentic Caribbean flavors to the community.

“I visited Lou’s Restaurant & Bakery that morning in Hanover, and it lived up to its reputation! I ordered a blueberry pancake and a cup of coffee, and it was incredibly authentic, with fluffy, fruity flavors. The atmosphere was retro and had a small-town feel. The gundruk soup was absolutely outstanding - we've never had anything like it and are still talking about it weeks later!
