Oakes & Evelyn - Montpelier Reviews
Every time I've been, the menu has been almost entirely different and I've ordered a wide sampling from the menu. I've test to have a single bite of food that wasn't thoughtful, intentional, perfectly prepared, and delicious. The bar program is also fantastic, as is the service. I cannot recommend this spot highly enough!
Absolutely outstanding! My wife and I were in town for vacation and were blown away by our experience here. The dishes were fantastic, great service and a beautiful setting.
We had brunch here today. The food was fabulous and the service was excellent!
I left my bag on the chair.
Tobin went above and beyond! I live over 2 hours away and they don't open again until Wednesday. Thank you so very much Tobin!

Based on recent reviews, Oakes & Evelyn is a new restaurant in Woodstock, Vermont with a great atmosphere, though some note the tables are very close together. The food is described as thoughtful and intentional, with careful attention to tiny details. The menu changes often, and every dish is perfectly prepared. Specific meals mentioned include the Caesar salad, beef tenderloin, gnocchi, coconut crème brûlée, hamachi crudo, risotto, ravioli, tinned yellowtail tuna platter, scallop and pork belly dish, calamari, oxtail grilled cheese, mushroom dishes, and a duck-fat-washed bourbon. The food is on the pricier side, but the flavors and quality are well worth the cost. The service is friendly, swift, and attentive. The staff is nice, and many of the same employees have been there for almost a year. This is a great place for patient, open-minded people who enjoy a dining experience. It is not for those seeking quick meals or substitutions. The restaurant is in a prime downtown location, close to everything. The menu even suggests they can veganize some dishes. Customers would gladly return.
