“Looking for Chai is our family's favorite restaurant and my mom visits on at least a weekly basis. We ordered the party platters for buffet-style food for our wedding, and it was absolutely delicious, with our guests coming back for second and third plates because it was so good. We're happy that we may have added a few more loyal customers to our favorite place after our wedding.“

“Very tasty, very crowded. Worth the waiting.
Update after 10 years: Facing East still cooks the best Taiwanese food but what a pity they don't have a dining room any more... Can you please find a new place? Anywhere no more Eastward than Issaquah Highland will be crowded I guarantee.“

“Expensive but very authentic. I ordered the lotus wrap and the tofu skins and the house made soy milk which is excellent. Also ordered the "fang twang" and the almond pudding.“

“This place ROCKS! Not only is the food delicious, but the service is superb. We can get a little busy at times but they deal with it by giving you a text to let you know when your table is ready. And the best part... they celebrated my partner's birthday by giving her a free drink and a free meal! We will be back!
Dietary restrictions: My partner is pescatarian and they were very easily accommodated.“

“Their steamed snowfish, beef noodles, three cups of squid, and chicken soup are all very good. My friends and I have been here several times, and I even love their kimchi. There are also many cuisines, and the overall feeling is very satisfying. Think, authentic Taiwanese food, the waiters are very polite.“

“I got the five-piece fried chicken & rice here, and I really enjoyed it
Starting off with the fried chicken, I found this to be excellent. It's very well seasoned on the outside, giving it that extra flavor that it doesn't need but will certainly use. Secondly, the breading is top-notch throughout - there's rarely a spot that's lacking; in fact, many spots have that slight bit of extra flakiness to them. While the detail & thickness of the batter isn't up to somewhere like District H, since this is meant to be mixed with rice, the lighter and less crunchy alternative works very well here
What impressed me the most about this chicken was how well cooked & juicy it is. It's very difficult to get the internal temperature of fried chicken correctly, but here they managed do it perfectly. The chicken thighs were really juicy, perfectly cooked, and even slightly pink on the inside.
While the rice was pretty simple - they did a great job with it. It was basically perfect as the base for the dish. I enjoyed mixing the vegetables and the 1/2 egg into it to come out with a great base.
I very much also appreciated the sauces given as an option next to the food truck. Pouring the mayo & chili sauces over the rice, and mixing it in just gave an incredible amount of flavor to each bite.
The other fantastic part about this meal was how massive the portion was. The price of around $13 is your standard work lunch pricing, but the amount of food given was significant - particularly the amount of pieces of chicken. I was barely able to finish this meal, and I was full for a long time after that.
Overall, this is some really fantastic, relatively healthy food with a great price and a very strong portion size. 9.25/10“

“Authentic is accurate. Lots of familiar dishes that bring back great memories. The fried chicken is a popular one, popcorn chicken is always welcome! The popcorn chicken is the same meat, just without the rice if you only care about the meat. Dongpo is also an extremely familiar option if you're looking for a juicy, fatty option. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything and I could rave about all of them, except the regular chicken simply because I haven't tried it and don't expect too much as it's the more plain option. The meatballs seem to sell out first or second, so be aware of that and also take the chance if you haven't tried. Fried chicken is the safest choice IMO, but again you can't go wrong with anything. Go with fried chicken if you're looking for some crunch, dongpo for fatty, and braised beef for more of a "balanced" meal.Only unfortunate part is the hours, but it's perfect for lunch. I wish dinner was an option, but that's alright. Bentos seem small but are rather filling (more so than expected, at least). Though a bento and a side of popcorn chicken is a great combination. A consistent go-to nested in a convenient location for lunch.“

“I've traveled to Taiwan many times and had a lot of Taiwanese food. This place serves very authentic Taiwanese food and they all taste good. We tried Braised beef noodle soup, combo over rice, spicy wonton, and Chinese broccoli. They were all good. We were the only one dining in and I think this restaurant gets a lot of take-out/delivery orders, so don't be afraid to go in even if there are no one inside. You need to holler at the kitchen to get the staff's attention too. ;-)“

“I've known Peter Yea for over 40 years. He is dedicated to this restaurant and often you will find him helping out in the kitchen or waiting tables. Dont let the strip mall location fool you. This is a 5 star restaurant in disquise. Clean and organized. The food is fresh, cooked to perfection and always consistantly excellent. This is a hidden gem. You'll be glad you tried it. .“
“They're not closed. It's confusing! You have to go around back to the alley, where they have a walk-up window. But the tofu here is amazing.Silky (med-firm) fresh tofu, deep fried blocks with little veggies mixed in, and my favorite: light pillowy fried tofu puffs. Gotta try them all!“

“Great hotpots from Taiwan. Fast service, clean environment. We like the house special pot and the lamb hotpots. Good for both winter and summer dining! The wait time in Redmond store seems to be shorter than the one in Bellevue, easier parking too.“
