Quite literally the best sandwich I’ve ever had! We only come to the island a few weeks a year, so I’ve been trying to find a sandwich as good, but nothing compares. It is one of the things I look forward to on every visit!
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The owners, a husband-and-wife team, were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit.
What stood out most was how warmly they treated our dog. They immediately brought him a bowl of ice-cold water, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel truly welcome. It’s not always easy to find places that are genuinely pet-friendly, and they went above and beyond.

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants of all-time. For starters, the specialty sandwiches are some of the best you can find on Planet Earth. Add that to wonderful service, pleasant atmosphere, amazing homemade cookies, perfectly-made soups of the day, and you have an experience worth remembering every single time.
It is such a treat to be able to visit such wonderful small-owned businesses who put their hearts into serving people and making delicious food.

Cannery House | Take 5 offers great food with the right flavors, featuring sandwiches that have been called the best sandwiches some have ever eaten. Specific meals include the spicy corn chowder soup, chicken sandwich, Lopez sandwiches with salads and bread sticks, Cask Chicken Sandwich, and the Montecristo (deep fried savory sandwich/sweet French toast combo). The steamed sandwiches are SO GOOD, with thick bread that is fluffy and soft. The side salad and dressing are good. Service is impeccable, good, and the food comes out very quickly. The location is awesome with a great big open window in the front, making diners feel like they are right on the main street in Friday Harbor. However, some find the prices absurdly high with an 80% mark up for the same meal in a major city, and sandwich portions are small. The owner is lovely and gives the history of the establishment.
