Great bread!
I'm not the kind of person that usually goes for a sandwich for lunch, but we were fresh after a bike ride and a warm saucy sandwich sounded like a good idea in that moment. And it was!! We tried the chicken sandwich, soup, and coleslaw, and everything was perfect! The bread was fresh and nicely toasted, the meat juicy and soft, just the right amount fixings, and simply great flavors! Highly recommend!
Large sandwiches and an easy walk from the dock. I recommend the Lopez. They steam their sandwiches, which is a fresh take. I took half home and then toasted it as a leftover, which made it even 100x better. Maybe they can toast mine next visit? That would be an insane sandwich. 🥪

Cannery House | Take 5 offers great food with the right flavors, featuring sandwiches that have been called the best sandwiches some have ever eaten. Specific meals include the spicy corn chowder soup, chicken sandwich, Lopez sandwiches with salads and bread sticks, Cask Chicken Sandwich, and the Montecristo (deep fried savory sandwich/sweet French toast combo). The steamed sandwiches are SO GOOD, with thick bread that is fluffy and soft. The side salad and dressing are good. Service is impeccable, good, and the food comes out very quickly. The location is awesome with a great big open window in the front, making diners feel like they are right on the main street in Friday Harbor. However, some find the prices absurdly high with an 80% mark up for the same meal in a major city, and sandwich portions are small. The owner is lovely and gives the history of the establishment.
