“Great service, clean tables with plenty of room, pool tables, darts, and a jukebox. I had the 4 pc house battered chicken, nice and light, but plenty of flavor and golden fries. My wife had the house bbq chicken sandwich with the house made potato salad. I'm definitely going again!!”

“Wife wanted to go to the mermaid festival and I wanted to mow the lawn. I lost and we drove out there. It was a good time even if mermaids aren’t my thing. The wine was very good and the bacon wrapped prawns are delicious. The crab Louie has a giant helping of crab also. We walked around the grounds and it was well kept.”

The Blue Bouy was characteristic of restaurants in town -- down home food, lots of local clientele, very busy and friendly, helpful people.My friend uses a walker so navigating a busy restaurant is always a challenge. One of the staff helped by clearing a table that was easier to get in and out of, near the front window with a view of the docks.Crab is the local specialty so we ordered the Crab Louie and the Crab Sandwich with clam chowder on the side. Both were delicious.On leaving, I was having trouble helping my friend get up from his chair (he's 6'3" and heavy) so a lady at a nearby table who was a retired nurse came over and helped. We found all the people we encountered in our 4-day stay to be friendly and helpful.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to the left of the front door which allows entry to the back of the dining area.”

“I've been getting ice and chum bait from Westport Seafood for a few years and haven't had anything close to a bad experience. Joe and staff all work long hours and give 110%! Their saltwater flake ice is the best I've used. And its stupid cheap. They only sell it by the full tote for $60, I don't need more than half that per trip but would easily spend twice that amount at a grocery store or gas station buying the same amount of crappy ice that I can watch melt. And the IQF sardines are $55 for a #40 pound box, very reasonable. And I prefer to chum with dead bait over live because it lays down a perfect trail and won't swim away... They only take cash or checks. Try to have exact change when picking up ice/ bait in the mornings before a trip. They are open until 5pm and it's always easier to load up the afternoon before a trip if possible. And they ice doesn't melt anyways.”

“My friend and I arrived in Westport late in the evening. We went online and discovered this funky little deli is still open. We hurried over and found no one in the front where a couple of booths and a display case are located. There's a small bar in the back and it had 2 or 3 patrons. After inquiring the helpful bartender said we could take one of the booths up front since my friend uses a walker, and she would take our order and serve us there.We ordered Clam Chowder and Tuna Sandwich and it was delivered soon after. After getting some food, a great porter beer and meeting all three of the house doggies, we were ready to get to our condo and settle in. Staff here were super helpful and saved us from starvation after a long drive. Thanks!”

These are the things we have tried:Fish and chips - I really liked the breading, there was the perfect amount and they were cooked perfectly.Pizza - This is my favorite pizza that I've found. Full stop. It has a corn meal crust that is crispier on the bottom but still has some puff on top. The marinara is tasty and the right amount. They are generous with cheese and toppings. My son always wants pepperoni, but my personal favorite is the sausage.Chowder - Clam chowder is everywhere in this town, and this one is on par with the best of them. Burgers - The last time I ate there, I had a basic cheeseburger and I was impressed. It was a good sized patty with great char on the outside and a bun hearty enough to stand up to it. The fries with it were great, too.Peach cobbler - For just a few dollars we got a foil baking container with a whole mini cobbler in it that fed all 3 of us. It was amazing.Cherry pie - It was OK. It was better with ice cream. Just being honest.Cheesecake - My guy has a sweet tooth so I got him strawberry cheesecake for father's day. It has a high cheesecake to crust ratio, which is what he likes. I snuck a couple bites, very good.Cupcakes - my son will get cupcakes when we visit, and although I personally haven't had them, he is a big fan of the strawberry lemonade and the Boston cream pie.Cookies - my husband raves about the cookies, I need to try those, tooView - with corona virus restrictions just recently allowing for eateries to open the interiors, its been nice to be able to get inside and see how gorgeous the view is from the back of the restaurantInterior - I think it's really pretty and clean inside.”

“I ordered takeout here the other night while staying at a nearby hotel with our dogs. The woman who took my order by phone was nice enough. My husband ran inside to pick it up. When he came out, I asked about the vibe, and he said "Kind of a dive bar, neighborhood-type place. Pool table, football on the TVs, neon beer signs, and the menu was handwritten in chalk." I got garlic wings and my husband got a BLT with tots. The garlic wings were pretty good. Garlicky (I'm not complaining) and a lot of butter. I stuck a few leftover wings in the hotel fridge, and I'm not going to lie, the fridge smelled pretty garlicky the next day and there was a little inch of congealed butter or oil on the bottom of the box. My husband reported that his BLT was "maybe the best BLT (he) ever had." That's pretty high praise! I didn't try the BLT but I snagged a few tots and they were delicious - nice and browned to a crisp. Five stars for what it was, good tavern food! Quick, hot, and hit the spot. We didn't ask if the tavern was dog friendly, otherwise, we might have gone back to hang out, but we did hear that they had live music the next night which happened to be New Years Eve.”
